    Great saw!!!
I bought a piece of property that was logged. I had trees laying everywhere. So I new I would be cutting a lot more then the average home owner. I bought the 211 because of size and weight. It has done great. Over the winter I cut almost every day. I was cutting an average of 5.5 days out of every week from Nov. to March. This saw never let me down. The easy start is awesome. The easy chain tensioner is great and saves a lot of time. This saw is light weight and very easy to use.

    EZ start, Great features
Bought my 211 as a replacement to my Husqvarna which I had for many years. Made the change due to the EZ start feature which is fantastic. Had shoulder surgery and with the ez start, you simply pull the cord maybe halfway out and the saw does the rest. Takes a couple pulls to start but if you follow the directions for starting, it works every time. No more pulling and pulling to get the saw to turn over. Also the chain tightener is a snap and takes 30 seconds maybe to tighten the chain. All ... read more without tools. Cuts fast too for a mid size but will bog down if you try to force it.

    Very nice product.
This Chain saw has a mighty punch for a little guy. Even though I have only had this product a short time, I have used it on quite a few projects and it performed very well. I sure hope over time it holds up to the Stihl name. The weight of this device (light) made it easily used by this female. I was also very impressed by the sales person at Oakdale Ace Hardware in Smyrna, GA. He reviewed (physically showed me) the operation and safety of device in a non-condescending manner. Sometimes people ... read more are very condescending to women buying these types of products.

Very good for occasional home owner use.
Unfortunately, my 3 year old MS170 was stolen. Looking for one as good again as that one, which I bought on a special day when some Stihl reps were at a local supply stores special day and got a really great special price that time. Guess I'll have to pay the real price this time around. Just having one that will crank and go when you need it only occasionally is worth the price. Thieves usually get their rewards eventually, a few years inside a concrete room with bars for a door.

Light weight but plenty of power
I had big saws for the trunks but needed a smaller, lighter saw for the branches. This one does the job admirably. I also appreciated the on line video on how to sharpen the chain.

This is the best small saw i have ever had! The easy start feature works so well..!!
A wonderful easy to start saw with lots of power. I am thrilled with how this saw works…if it lasts for years and tears like my other Stihl saws have, I will 200% satisfied. Right now after one month and about 3 cords of wood cut so far i am very very happy. Thank You, L J, Williams, Oregon USA

    Works Every Time!
Bought my Stihl MS251C almost a year ago, and it is fantastic. Starts beautifully, usually with three easy pulls, and the chain tension adjuster saves me the trouble of carrying a wrench and screw driver with me, like I've had to do with all my previous non-Stihl saws - not that I have to adjust it often. I have a small farm, and it has handled everything I have thrown at it. Light weight, and runs a long time on a tank of gas. I can't say enough about how great a saw this is!

Best Saw I Have Ever Owned!!
I have used this saw for over 2 years now. I have never had any problems. I have cut many cords of wood. The saw has never failed to start or quit for no reason. I would recommend this saw to anyone who needs a dependable saw that's so easy to use.

I like the easy start and the chain adjuster.
Nice starting strong running saw. I've been cutting up a 24" red oak. The narrow kerf saves a lot of wood.

    light but tough little saw
Had this ms180 c for over two years and honestly can say it's the best light saw I've ever owned. Have used it for general brush clearing, and for felling and limbing some very large Leyland Cypress. It will handle 12" logs with ease and even used it to close cut a 24" stump, albeit carefully. Never fails to start and love the easy start feature. Just don't try to start it like you did your "old" chain saw with a "throw" pull or other hard pull. Just securely hold saw and slowly pull up handle. ... read more Once she's warmed up and running, she'll start on first pull every time.. I always run it out of gas when I put her up and fill with fresh gas when I take it out to use it. Also love the easy chain adjustment. This is really a well designed and well thoughtout product for home and small farm use.

    Feels good in the hands
This saw does exactly what I purchased it for. Around the property management and cutting logs for firewood. Easy to start, enough power to get the jobs done, simple maintenance.

    Best purchase 2016!
I love this saw and I have probably burned 15 cords of wood in our stove this year. Wood is or only heat source so we go through a ton of it. I was a little worried about it being marketed as a saw that cuts 16-18'' logs but I have cut some huge stumps that are 4' in diameter. It starts up every time and runs for 45min to 1 hr on one tank of gas doing full on sawing the whole time. I have only dulled one saw blade and I am currently working through the second. Once you go STIHL you never go back.

If it's not STIHL, it's not real !!!!!!!
I only use stihl equipment and purchased my first saw eight years ago which was a ms210, it has always functioned properly and is still running well. However I decided to upgrade to a larger saw today, I purchased the ms251 wood boss. Smith Chapel supply is a phenomenal dealer and is very pleasant to work with. They fueled up the saw and ensured that I was familiar with it before I left the store. When I got home it fired up on the first pull and cut threw the trees with ease. I ran the saw hard ... read more for a few hours today and was impressed with the power of this saw. "If it is not stihl, it is not real" !!!!!!!

    good saw
Saw starts easily and runs good. This model has the chain with larger teeth and is an aggressive cutter. It may be more saw than the average homeowner needs. For just pruning 6" or smaller limbs, one of the smaller saws would work quite well and cost less than the Wood Boss. The Wood Boss is an excellent saw and I would recommend it.

    good power
I have been using professional saws for nearly 20 years. This little saw has a good amount of power for its size. Its a small saw but I have a 360 Pro and a Stihl 660 that can do the big work. I like the light weight And it cuts well. I am not personally a fan of the soft start though it works fine. It feels like an option for something to break and I just have to get used to it. It does start right up. It is quite nice for starting a saw while in a tree. Overall a good buy.

    Seems reliable
Good little saw. I use to to fall trees bigger than it's intended for, don't clean the air filter like I should, and don't keep the chain as sharp as it should be. A few times I've spent all day cutting 18' logs. Don't expect much power, but it does well for what it's designed for. Saw is 1 year old and works great.

Very dependable and light for the elderly:
My 2 1/2 year old ms 180-c is still running strong. Just felt that I had better get another for back-up before winter sets in. Also I have a Farm Boss that is a hoss of a heavy duty chainsaw. It is 12 yrs old and strong as ever. Only Stihl at my farm.
