    Great saw!
Easy to handle. Easy to start and maintain. Well balanced for ease of use. A little on the weak end of the power spectrum, but to be expected for the model and size. Great value and quality for a home use saw.

    Love my MS 170
I bought this MS 170 a little over a year ago. I love this little saw. The weight of this saw allows you to cut all day and not even think about. What surprised me was the power this little saw has. I use it a lot along fence rows to cut small brush and to cut up trees that fell down on the fence. Never a problem. Starts with 1 or 2 pulls. I have had a Stihl 044 for years so I knew about the quality product of a Stihl. This MS 170 is top notch.

    Great Product
I have used saw to cut down and cut up 5 small oaks. Chain supplied with the saw dulled very easy. . Used a replacement chain, different company, and the saw was great. Replace the chain from the original, and the best saw I have owned in many years, and yes I have owned 4 different drands.

powerful, handy, easy start, low vibration
I use my saw around the farm. Have put about 12 hours on it. Easy start, plenty of power, and runs great. The best part is my hands don't vibrate when I shut it down. It is well balanced and easy to handle. The only thing is that it uses a little more fuel than my old one, but does have more power.

    Exceptional chain saw
Geez this is an awesome chainsaw. The engine seems fine tuned like a race car and never has any stutter or hesitance in any position. This is perfectly balanced, and feels like an extension of your own arms. The weight is ideal and it's super durable.

    Great Value
I took it out first day and took care of 2 large downed trees. Ran like a champ. I really love the caps on the gas and bar oil. They don't allow over tightening, so it can't get stripped. Great design. I feel like it should come with a case, but i bought one. I do wish the cast was full, instead of having the chain sticking out. Great saw though. Love it! I have another downed tree and can't wait to find time to take care of it! You must be careful when cold starting, because it will flood easy.

    Works Every Time!
Bought my Stihl MS251C almost a year ago, and it is fantastic. Starts beautifully, usually with three easy pulls, and the chain tension adjuster saves me the trouble of carrying a wrench and screw driver with me, like I've had to do with all my previous non-Stihl saws - not that I have to adjust it often. I have a small farm, and it has handled everything I have thrown at it. Light weight, and runs a long time on a tank of gas. I can't say enough about how great a saw this is!

    Great Design!
I've had my MS-251C for a year and it's more than paid for itself. The week I bought it I cut up a large Poplar tree trunk that had been down in my wife's garden for a year. My former chainsaw was a different brand and it was a real pain to clean and maintain. It was immediately obvious that the people at Stihl put a lot of thought into making this saw easy for an owner to clean and service it! I love how well the saw cuts and even better, I love how easy it is to clean and replace the chain and ... read more bar! Great saw and I look forward to many years of using it! Now I know why my Dad swore by Stihl products.

    Very powerful with low maintenance.E
Easy to operate, has an easy start, runs smooth. I previously owned a 250 MS and had trouble starting the saw. I was elated to find out the 251 C-BE was a saw that was easy start. It starts on the first pull. While using I noticed that it was very easy on bar oil and gas.

Just like all of the other Stihl power tools I own, PERFECT!
I own a Stihl backpack blower and trimmer with a harness. I have on them for about 12 years and have been completely satisfied with every aspect of the machine. When I needed to replace my small chainsaw, I didn't think of buying any other type than the Stihl. I could not be any more pleased with my purchase. I recommend your products every time I have the opportunity.

    Truly is an "Easy Start"
Fed up with my old chainsaw, that failed within hours of first using, despite my constant maintenance and adjustments, I decided that a Stihl was the direction to go, both from first hand experience with my neighbor's Stihl saw, AND from word of mouth. This saw has performed seamlessly, and it cut thru a 20" Live Oak tree like it was butter. It took less than an hour to buck the whole limb, which weighed several tons, and I didn't have to adjust the chain even once during it's break-in period.

    Well worth the money
This is an affordable saw for a starting business. I needed a chainsaw for cutting down small trees for customers. Without having a large budget, I researched and found that this saw should meet my needs. So far it's working great. I'm definitely going to upgrade later, because of the power when a bind is put on it. However, it makes fast work of small to midsize trees. Very dependable! Would recommend.

    awesome saw!
I purchased this saw this week with a 16inch bar, couldn't ask for a better saw. i don't cut trees daily, so this was the ideal choice. i had a large peacan limb fall out of the tree. it was up to about a foot in diameter and aprox. 20-25ft long. the saw handled flawlessly and didn't use much gas, or oil. Cut like a hot knife threw butter. if your just going to use a saw every once in awhile, then i highly recommend this one. no question, stihl makes the best saws out there.

    Best ever!
I don't use a chain saw very often. But when I do I want it to work. My last one let me down too many times (brand omitted because I won't call it by its proper name) I bought this saw and it started right up and worked great. I used it a couple weekends in a row and I wore out before it ever slowed down! I'm looking at buying Stihl for all my power tools from now on. The guy that waited on me at Aker's Hardware was very knowledgeable about the saw too. It's been a great experience.

This saw performs as per its design, it's easy to start and cuts well. I am completely satisfied with it and the dealer whom I bought it from.

Great cutting power from such a lightweight and easy to use saw
I received an MS 180 CB-E "Mini Boss" as a gift from an older relative who could no longer use it. What a great saw, just a pleasure to use, starts immediately and with very little effort. Perfect for cutting up windfalls for firewood, and felling 12-16" diameter snags. Light and balanced enough to work aloft. Perfect for clearing brush all day long. The only time the bigger MS 360 leaves the shed anymore is for the truly heavy jobs, but the 180 always comes along for bucking and clearing.

Fantastic saw, power to weight is perfect
Saw is now 1 yr. old. I have been very pleased with it thus far. It is much more powerful than I expected. Starts on 2-3 pulls when cold. 1 when hot. Not for heavy-duty use but I have cut a lot of wood with it plus storm damage trees. The chain is easy to replace and easy to keep correct tension. I have had absolutely no problems with it and would not hesitate to buy another if needed.

I'm not cutting giant redwoods here folks. I got the best chainsaw to take care of larger limbs around the house. It performed perfectly with no snags. One of my favorite features was the ease of starting. I was shocked how easy it was. I was also impressed with the price. I was going to hire a guy to come over to cut my limbs. LOL.. He was going to charge me two times the cost of my new chainsaw! Can't wait for my "Non-Stihl" string trimmer to break dow so that I can buy a Stihl!
