Great value, and a quality work course product… I recommend it highly…
This high-quality chainsaw does the job… Cut approximately 20 cords of wood over the course of three days… No problems whatsoever lots of power… Lightweight… Please follow starting instructions to the letter… Full choke one pull only! Anymore will flood the engine… When it's warm don't choke at all… I appreciate the gas cap in bar oil caps as well… Easy to use just don't force them… Got this one at Charlie's Wentzville Missouri… Doug behind the counter great help…

    good power
I have been using professional saws for nearly 20 years. This little saw has a good amount of power for its size. Its a small saw but I have a 360 Pro and a Stihl 660 that can do the big work. I like the light weight And it cuts well. I am not personally a fan of the soft start though it works fine. It feels like an option for something to break and I just have to get used to it. It does start right up. It is quite nice for starting a saw while in a tree. Overall a good buy.

    All I'll ever need!
I purchased just under 5 acres of land with lots of Oak and Cedar and some Pine spread throughout. After using a competitor saw for 2 weeks I purchased this saw along with the FS 130 Brushcutter and have been extremely pleased. I'm no lumberjack but this saw gets more work done than the last one in half the time!

    MS 181 C-BE
Bought this chainsaw to use around the house, trimming magnolia trees and some other trees. I had problems starting the saw when I first got it because I didn't know how to take advantage of the Easy2Start system. I took it to the dealer I bought it from and they showed me how to start it correctly. Now that I know how to start it correctly, it is very, very simple to start. You really don't have to pull hard on the rope at all. I haven't had an issue with it. Cuts through trees like butter.

    Perfect for heavy home use
I've run a few of the bigger Stihl saws out on my friend's farm, but they are overkill for what I was needing at my home. The 181 is the perfect size for cutting up medium soft woods (>8") and smaller hardwoods (>5") around my home, and my parents home. Maintenance is a breeze with the tool-less design and the quick start works like a dream. Running this all day is no problem for me with the light weight and the shocks built in to the body. I'll most likely get a 14" bar if I ever need to cut ... read more anything bigger, but the 16" that is included is more than adequate for my current needs.

Easy start and a dream to use.
I have owned Stihl chain saws for over 20 year and have a problem with my upper back and could not pull start my older chain saws both Stihl and others. After searching online I came across the MS 180 C-BE 16. So I went to Robinson Hardware in Guilderland NY. The sales person was great and we went over the easy start saws that were available and I dry started this saw. It was an answer to my dream of having a chain saw I could start with out hurting my back. After purchase we went out and ... read more started my new saw. If you can pick up a cold drink 3 times it starts. The next day I headed into the woods and ran the saw for about 4 hours and it ran very well and after it warmed up it was a 1 pull wonder.

great choice for a rookie female!
I love this saw! I was attracted to the light weight and easy-start features and haven't been disappointed. As a woman inexperienced with chain saws, I didn't want to fight with a big, heavy saw that's hard to start. I use the saw for cutting brush, cutting tree limbs, and other small chores. Guys who have LOTS of experience love the saw for bigger jobs, too. The dealer was very helpful and gave me good advice on basic use of the saw.

    Can't beat a stihl!
After purchasing this chainsaw and using It the very next day to cut 3 cord's of wood I was very pleased with this product. Still running good with no problems whatsoever.even the chain is still sharp! I'll never purchase anything other than a stihl again, and the seller at Cal Ranch, where I purchased the saw were extremely helpful and great. 5 Star rating to stihl!!

    My fav lightweight saw!!
The Stihl MS180 is a fantastic value and a hard working little machine. I have two of them and use this model to cut 90% of my firewood for home heat. Some people laugh at my little saw but for me a light weight saw lets me keep working all day without user fatigue. I have several larger saws but only use them for felling large trees and for big jobs. Never under estimate the value of small, lightweight equipment. In the right hands they can do a ton of work! I do however wish Stihl would avoid ... read more some of the newer additions to this model like the easy start and tool-less chain adjustment features. In my experience they just add weight and reduce long term reliability. Keep em simple, strong, and light!!

    Works Every Time!
Bought my Stihl MS251C almost a year ago, and it is fantastic. Starts beautifully, usually with three easy pulls, and the chain tension adjuster saves me the trouble of carrying a wrench and screw driver with me, like I've had to do with all my previous non-Stihl saws - not that I have to adjust it often. I have a small farm, and it has handled everything I have thrown at it. Light weight, and runs a long time on a tank of gas. I can't say enough about how great a saw this is!

    Great saw!
This is saw is great! I own 200 acres of woods and own a couple of Stihl professional series saws. I was looking for a smaller light weight saw that was easier to use for smaller tasks and this saw more than does that. I've used it to fell small trees creating food plots and clearing spots for tree stands and now find myself using this saw over my pro series saws to cut logs for firewood. This saw has plenty of power and I love the easy start and chain adjustor. This saw is a must have!

    I switched brands
A couple of my local friends recommended the Stihl saws. I have been a long time owner of another brand. After buying a new one of the old brand I was so disappointed with it I switched to Stihl. My kids can't keep up with the splitting and stacking because I cut so much wood with this Stihl saw. This is a fabulous machine and I am so happy I switched. It can get serviced locally if I have any issues. Don't forget the Stihl oil it doubles the warranty and doesn't need stabilizers.

It's good enough for my needs
I use this saw around the house and cut some small stock firewood. It's plenty for what I need. I don't really care for the easy start system. It feels strange, mostly because I'm not used to it yet I suppose. The first startup took forever. The second one took awhile, but since that point it has been pretty easy. Good saw for small stock and occasional use.

    Best chainsaw I've owned!!!
The Stihl 211 C-BE is the greatest little saw I have ever owned. The "easy2start" feature is perfect for me since I have shoulder issues. Now, I can put all my energy into cutting wood instead of fighting with a chainsaw to get it started! Also, the chain can be tightened in seconds without tools and it works flawlessly. Don't be put off by this saw's small size.... it can keep up with the big guys without tiring out the operator! I highly recommend it!

    EZ start, Great features
Bought my 211 as a replacement to my Husqvarna which I had for many years. Made the change due to the EZ start feature which is fantastic. Had shoulder surgery and with the ez start, you simply pull the cord maybe halfway out and the saw does the rest. Takes a couple pulls to start but if you follow the directions for starting, it works every time. No more pulling and pulling to get the saw to turn over. Also the chain tightener is a snap and takes 30 seconds maybe to tighten the chain. All ... read more without tools. Cuts fast too for a mid size but will bog down if you try to force it.

    Handy, Little Dependable Saw
Purchased the MS 170 for limbing trees, and bucking small diameter oak and gum trees. Impressive little, lightweight saw. Easy to start so far. It's excellent cutting ability may be due in part to a wider but shorter 12" bar and a 63PM44 chain that I use. Still need my big Stihl and Partner for felling big trees, but for the smaller stuff it's a welcomed change of pace using this light chainsaw. So glad I bought it. Like a lot of great products, it might get discontinued. Better buy one now! ... read more I'm buying another, just in case.

Most dependable saw I've ever owned
I bought brand new and used in a professional tree service and would never use anything else. Not one single problem. Awesome saw I love using it.

Small package with a big bite.
I cut 24"+ rounds for firewood that is my main heating source. Don't let the size fool you.
