reliable chainsaw for small jobs, excellent product!
We purchased this battery-powered chainsaw after having purchased a battery-powered Stihl trimmer. Both my wife and I have found it to be a superior addition to our battery of tools to remove vegetation along our fence rows. It is lightweight and sufficiently powerful for the small trees along the fences. Its operation is quiet and without the annoying fumes that accompany our other chainsaws. We also purchased the AP 300 Lithium-Ion battery that provides approximately 45 minutes of continuous ... read more operating time with the chainsaw. We recommend it without any reservations.

    Great Chainsaw
Purchased this as I had a couple trees and many large branches to removed from my newly purchased property. I'm not a fan of the smell of gasoline or the idea of breathing the fumes in. The saw it had the power that I needed, no emissions, and is so quiet. The running time is perfect with the Stihl AP-180. Since you're never running the saw continuously, you can get hours wroth of work in. Stick it back on the charger every time you take a break and you're good to go all day. I'm looking ... read more forward to using it for future housework as well as making it a necessary addition to my overlanding toolkit.

    I love my chainsaw.
I am a 55 year old girl (at heart anyway). I love my little chainsaw. I have the small battery to keep the weight down and it lasts plenty long for the amount of work I want to do at one time. Cuts through 6" trees easily making cleanup and trimming a breeze. Thank you Stihl for making a battery operated chainsaw.

Best battery- powered chainsaw we have ever owned.
A bit pricey but the compact size and the fact there is no rope to pull to start it makes this ideal for my wife. No gasoline engine hassles, of course. Pretty quiet. The battery is 36 volt and will do a lot of work before needing to be recharged. It recharges fully in less than 2 hours. We are very happy with it.

    Great for trail maintenance
I just got this yesterday and spend over an hour clearing paths in the woods. It's light easy to use. I wouldn't use it to get firewood, but for small stuff it's great.

    Safest Chain Saw Ever
Yes, this chain saw cuts very well, is light and the battery lasts and lasts. But I love the safety feature. When you cut down a tree, you trim off the limbs, but the limbs have many branches that need to be trimmed. So you walk up, over, and between felled limbs and branches, all the time with a live chain saw in your hands, (and hope you don't trip). No more. This chain saw comes alive only when you use it. After each cut, you release the trigger and turn it off. To me, this is a huge, huge ... read more factor. And it will cut through some good sized limbs quite easily. Among my 6 Stihl products I have an MS 250, MS 361, etc. But this little chain saw makes tree work (I have 5 acres, fully wooded) so much easier. You don't have to start and re-start your gas-powered saws...this little booger will instantly come alive and cut.

    Good Chain Saw.
First off, It's a really great saw. I use the ap300 battery with it. I've used it on small and big projects. Recently helped build a fence with this saw. Cut 36 6x6 fence post tops and about 30 1x6 boards and it still had 50% charge! No, it's not gonna cut down 3 or 4-foot wide trees all day. Yet it's 'still' a really good saw for trimming and felling anything under 25-30 inches. The only thing that I wish was better is the bar length. 14 inches is the maximum length for Stihl. If it was maybe ... read more say, 18in, then it would be the perfect saw.

Just the thing for light work
We recently bought a piece of property that had been logged about 10 years ago, so the re-planted trees aren't that big yet. But there is a lot of downed wood and we wanted to make a path through the underbrush. The battery powered saw is perfect; lightweight, but cuts very well. Bought an extra battery so we don't have to stop in the middle of the 20 acres and work our way back up to the house. I'm disabled and my wife is pretty small, so this works great for both of us.
