Homeowner Trimmers

Weeds and grass, they think they own the place. Show them who’s boss with a STIHL trimmer, made specifically for use around the home. These grass trimmers are lightweight, powerful and easy to use. Just start them up and watch as they make quick work of those hard-to-reach areas mowers leave behind. To help you identify model features, look for these corresponding symbols: C = Comfort feature, E = Easy2Start™, and R = loop handle.

STIHL trimmers for use around the home are available in either loop handle or bike handle styles. Both options come loaded with convenience features, such as upright, translucent fuel tanks, easy-to-access air filters and purge pump primers to help prevent flooding. These features save you time and effort, something you’ll appreciate even more when it’s 100 degrees outside in the shade.

    this product has great features
In the old days, Stihl trimmers were no problems for me. I have a Stihl chainsaw that was bought 15 or so years ago, and it is still awesome today. The trimmers of yesteryear worked very well. You didn't have to worry about the starter rope pulling out. I am not comfortable pulling the rope '' gently'' to start the trimmer. Also, I get maybe 15 to 20 min on fuel, then have to fill it up again. The string is too thin for my yard. Stihl has been my choice almost forever, I do recommend Stihl though.

    Works great!
I had tried a few other trimmers before settling on the Stihl. The weight is balanced and doesn't vibrate near as much as other brands that i tried. It cuts well and feels perfect for my height 5'8". If you are taller you might want a longer one.

    excellent trimmer
Has plenty of power and easy to start. Choke can be a little difficult to set for starting, but always starts on first pull. I've had numerous other cheap trimmers, and this one is by far the best.

    Homeowners dream
This is my first Stihl product, and I absolutely love it. I owned a well known big box store brand and found out it was not a true big box store brand and parts were almost non existent. I'm sure many can relate to what I said. Went to my local Stihl dealer just to see what they offered and bought this bad boy on the spot and a gallon of the motomix. This trimmer outperforms my previous one ten fold. It starts easier, has much more throttle response, runs smoother, is balanced better and just ... read more overall feels nicer in my hands. I'm a Stihl fan for life now. The hedge trimmer will be my next purchase. If you are thinking about this trimmer, just buy it. I promise you won't regret it.

    It's a Stihl
I've had an FS85 for almost 20years. Finally started having to by parts, just getting old. I'm 6' 2" and I need some thing that has good reach but I don't do professional lawn maintenance so didn't need anything really expensive for heavy duty work. I bought the FS56 for a reasonable price and its been a great trimmer. It does everything my FS85 did and it's lighter to handle. I still have the FS85 but it's the back up now. It has been a worth while purchase.

    Long lasting and easy maintenance
I use my FS 56 for around the house for the most part but have put it to the test multiple times by knocking down high weeds and small trees around my motocross track. So far nothing has failed and she just keeps going, starts up on the first pull every time.

    Solid yard tool!
I've gone to the extent to replace all of the power yard tools with top of the line equipment. Simple logic is that I've spent too much time and money with the big box equip. Stepped up and bought the best equipment so that when I start a project it get done. I should be the one quitting before my equipment does.

I would give this an A+ grade.
I used this to cut a large area of 8 foot high giant rag weed, and an area that was impossible to reach with any other type of cutter because of the rough and uneven terrain. I used a steel, 4 blade cutter attachment which worked very well under these circumstances.
