Homeowner Trimmers

Weeds and grass, they think they own the place. Show them who’s boss with a STIHL trimmer, made specifically for use around the home. These grass trimmers are lightweight, powerful and easy to use. Just start them up and watch as they make quick work of those hard-to-reach areas mowers leave behind. To help you identify model features, look for these corresponding symbols: C = Comfort feature, E = Easy2Start™, and R = loop handle.

STIHL trimmers for use around the home are available in either loop handle or bike handle styles. Both options come loaded with convenience features, such as upright, translucent fuel tanks, easy-to-access air filters and purge pump primers to help prevent flooding. These features save you time and effort, something you’ll appreciate even more when it’s 100 degrees outside in the shade.

    Well worth the money
Easy starting, runs nice and smooth. Well worth the money. Little by little I have been buying Stihl products to replace other brands as they stop working. I would rather spend a few more bucks to replace than waste money on trying to repair something old.

    Well worth the money.
I have been using mine for a month now. Love the eazy pull start. The weed eater starts up quickly with out strenuous pulling. The string release works well when bumped at high revs. Vibrates more than I like, but not enough for me to lower my rating.

    very nice product
I've had this product several weeks now and really like the E-start feature, Went in the store figuring on buying a curved shaft trimmer and the salesman pointed out some very nice features with the straight shaft. I'am 6' 3" and the balance along with the harness just made sense, this product is great for a taller person. Along with the extra 2yr warranty with the purchase of oil. I' am very happy and expect to buy more stihl products in the future.

Very good but with some issues
Does a very good job on edging which is my major use. There are a few problems I have. first rotating into position for trimming puts the controls in an awkward position for me . Second, I am forced to bend down more than I like; probably because the curved shaft, is better suited for trimming or weed wacking. Finally The bump and advance does not usually work, and I need to stop and manually advance the string. I gave it a good rating in spite of these because I believe these are common ... read more problems with `trimmers of this types.

    well balanced easy to use
was using a cordless trimmer for years and every couple years the battery would go bad . to replace the battery was more expensive than the trimmer itself ,finally woke up and realized I could by a quality gas trimmer with 4 year warranty for less than I spent on the cordless and have much better power

    Nice machine.
I like the machine,it starts easily and runs good,I have had some problems with the spool that holds the string. At first use I could not get it to advance any string, unless I shut it off and pulled it out by hand, I took it back and they looked at it,then I went home and used it to trim my yard and it seemed to work fine. I think the string was kinked up on the spool and thats why it wouldn't come out,so time will tell, but overall it is a nice piece of equipment.

    Typical Stihl Quality
Owning a few Stihl products I know what to expect from them and this FS50 has not dissapointed whatsoever. The extra shaft length works much better for someone that is over 6ft tall as compared to the FS40. The power of the 50 is perfect for any homeowner and will cut through just about anything with ease! Knowing how to start the machine properly and using the correct 50:1 premix will net you excellent long term reliable results!!! Go Stihl or go home!!!

    Well rounded product
This brushcutter/trimmer was more than I expected. Has alot of power for what purchased it for. Only small flaw is the shoulder strap is uncomfortable and digs into your neck.

    Good value.
Money well spent. Very satisfied with this unit. Being 6'4" leaves the length of the shoulder strap lacking. Can't quite get the head as close to the ground as I would like. I will be asking my dealer if there's a longer strap available. Otherwise I'm extremely happy with it. Starts easily every time.

    OUTSTANDING!
Handled some very high and or thick weeds, comfortable doesn;t seem as if you are handling a weedeater compared to non-bike handle and strap. Easy to start runs great!
