    Best grass trimmer
I started trimming grass with my dad's electric trimmer, dragging cords around a 1/2 acre lot...moved up to gas with my own property. Owned many of the cheap low end products over the years for 1/4 acre to 2 acres. As the cheap stuff failed and cost more to repair then replace I started to switch to what the full-time lawn companies use daily -Stihl. Very happy with my latest upgrade to the 56. Not a fan of bump and feed so may replace the head, but it's working so well I may stick with it.

Much better product than I expected
Just put this trimmer away, after using it for about an hour, every week, for the entire summer. This unit replaced an older Stihl unit, and exceeded my expectations. Starting? Follow the instructions, and it will start with no more than 3 easy pulls, every time. Line usage? I am still using the same spool of line that came with the unit. In previous trimmers, I had to reload the line spool every third use. The shoulder strap, when properly adjusted, makes this product feel much lighter than it ... read more already is. There too are many other small touches that show this product is well thought out and designed.

    Great Trimmer half acre lot
I have had mine for about a month and love it! Definitely worth the money. Great deal of power even at half throttle. Bump feed works great as well. BUY THE STIHL OIL AND EXTEND WARRANTY 2 YEARS!!! Definitely will not buy anything but a Stihl for any power equipment I need after using this trimmer. Starts very easily as well.

    Gets it done
Had a fs55r that became problematic. With a $20 e-loyalty reward from Stihl to motivate me, I headed in to find a new one. Settled on the fs50c because I could be out the door with tax for less than $200. Power is great, but the curved shaft is a step backwards from the straight shaft model I was used to. Also, the trimmer head on this one is a pain. The winding feature works ok, but the knob sticking out on the bottom makes it more difficult to 'float' the trimmer when cutting big areas. It ... read more tends to catch and dig in. I may try to cobble my old Fs55 straight shaft onto this new power head. All in all, it starts on 3 pulls or less, revs quickly and gets it done around my house.

    Best weedeater ever!
I bought this weedeater in may or june and i absolutely love it! The first time i replaced the line was a little difficult but now im used to it. I trim over 2 acres of land that has heavy brush and thick grass but this weedeater gets the job done. My line wears a lot probably because of the stuff i trim but im happy i bought it. Definitely recommend it and being 6'3" i dont really have to hunch over to trim. Great product. Also have a stihl FS 72 that my grandpa bought back in 1995. So thats ... read more why i bought this one to replace the old one when it finally goes.

This is made for a taller man
I bought the FS50ce kind of by accident. I did not realize in the store this was the trimmer for taller men. I am 6'1'' and used to have a FS46 until ethanol gas wrecked it and I gave it to a friend. I went to the store just for a FS38. The store was sold out. I am glad they were out of stock. I am very happy with the extra 8 inches. I am also really happy with the easy2start and the choke system. Very good fuel economy as well. So far I have only run Stihl Moto mix in this trimmer. I have used ... read more it about 10 times now and my back is happy.

    Solid yard tool!
I've gone to the extent to replace all of the power yard tools with top of the line equipment. Simple logic is that I've spent too much time and money with the big box equip. Stepped up and bought the best equipment so that when I start a project it get done. I should be the one quitting before my equipment does.

bicycle handles are a big deal
My first stihl trimmer puts all those others to shame. Power, ease of starting and rugged dependability are all tops. The one negative is the clamp on my bicycle handles was slipping a bit. I opened it up and inserted a thin sheet of sandpaper (rough side inward) and that cured the problem. I am now able to cut more with less fatigue than ever before.

    Easy Starting
I have always hated grass trimmers. The last one I owned actually took 20-30 pulls to get it started and then it never ran well. I bought the Stahl FS40 on a recommendation. I brought the trimmer home and gave it one pull....it started on one pull. And purred like a kitten. If it's possible to fall in love with a piece of equipment I'm there!

    Thanks, Stihl!
I learned that if you buy this Stihl trimmer, you will not be sorry. I had a problem with my trimmer and the company went beyond my expectations to make things right. Somebody from Stihl personally reached out to me and could not have been kinder or more courteous. What a nice, unexpected gesture that I can't imagine many companies duplicating. As somebody who has been doing lawn care for 40 years, this trimmer is easy to handle and the easy start is nice so you won't dislocate your shoulder starting it.

    Made in USA
A finely engineered german product. Should have bought the best years ago. Always starts. Came from an undependable 4 stroke weedwacker. Actually I bought 2 stihls the same day, one for my son too. I bought them locally at a small rural dealer who has sold Stihl for years. I bought the premix so I don't have to get the mix wrong. We love our stihls and are telling others
