    Good value.
Money well spent. Very satisfied with this unit. Being 6'4" leaves the length of the shoulder strap lacking. Can't quite get the head as close to the ground as I would like. I will be asking my dealer if there's a longer strap available. Otherwise I'm extremely happy with it. Starts easily every time.

    Good ,,,but
Power, easy starting and dependable. But I keep snapping the line and then have to rake the cap off to restring it. If it's just cheep string that comes with it then I understand but if I can't run this at full power or hit a curb or fence with the string without the string snapping, I may return it

Much better product than I expected
Just put this trimmer away, after using it for about an hour, every week, for the entire summer. This unit replaced an older Stihl unit, and exceeded my expectations. Starting? Follow the instructions, and it will start with no more than 3 easy pulls, every time. Line usage? I am still using the same spool of line that came with the unit. In previous trimmers, I had to reload the line spool every third use. The shoulder strap, when properly adjusted, makes this product feel much lighter than it ... read more already is. There too are many other small touches that show this product is well thought out and designed.

    good quality product
I bought this trimmer a few months ago. Its really been a very good product. Starts easily and runs great. It seems light enough and balanced well. Thats important to me and my back. I have a lot of trimming to do and if im fighting the trimmer, it kills my back. Now for the longer haul we will see if the stihl fuel is worth the cost. I like the warranty you recieve by purchasing the stihl fuel. The ethanol fuels are just wrecking small engines. So far, I recommend this trimmer and their fuel. ... read more Its expensive, but worth it for longevity of the trimmer. Also, it seems plenty powerful enough to cut through the thick stuff quickly so you can move on without bogging down and getting wrapped up with weeds.

    Made in USA
A finely engineered german product. Should have bought the best years ago. Always starts. Came from an undependable 4 stroke weedwacker. Actually I bought 2 stihls the same day, one for my son too. I bought them locally at a small rural dealer who has sold Stihl for years. I bought the premix so I don't have to get the mix wrong. We love our stihls and are telling others

    Too easy
I ran out of trimmer line today, third time I had used the trimmer. I was curious if the replacing and winding of the line would be difficult. Directions were to cut 6' 6" of twine twice. I cut the plastic material and then followed directions.....I had the spool ready in a minute and back together ready for use in under 5 minutes. I adjusted the handle angle (I am left-handed) and now I find the trimmer easier to use. My old trimmer was a straight shaft, and the new one is angled. I am ... read more getting better with it each time.

Best trimmer for a first time gas Trimmer
Ive had my Trimmer now for a year. Before I had it I was use to the corded versions. i can now state that i will never go back to a corded or battery one ever again. I can Easily trim a 10,000Sq Ft lawn and only use 1/2 a tank!! just 3 pumps of the primer plunger, flip the switch to choke and 3 pulls of the string and im off!! this is a Perfect model for people considering switching to a gas trimmer. trust me you wont be disappointed!

    Powerful Engine with Underperforming Line
I own a FSE 60 electric which I prefer over the FS 50C except for the cord. I wanted the curved handle over the straight shaft as it was better balanced. I didn't realize the line diameter size is smaller with the curved shaft. What a mistake. The motor totally overpowers the line. Buy lots of extra line as you will need it. On grass no problem. If edging with a hard surface line will disappear rapidly. Stihl needs to provide a spool upgrade for heavier line. With the small line feeding is still ... read more an issue. Go with the straight shaft that holds the thicker line. Everything else is great.

    Gets it done
Had a fs55r that became problematic. With a $20 e-loyalty reward from Stihl to motivate me, I headed in to find a new one. Settled on the fs50c because I could be out the door with tax for less than $200. Power is great, but the curved shaft is a step backwards from the straight shaft model I was used to. Also, the trimmer head on this one is a pain. The winding feature works ok, but the knob sticking out on the bottom makes it more difficult to 'float' the trimmer when cutting big areas. It ... read more tends to catch and dig in. I may try to cobble my old Fs55 straight shaft onto this new power head. All in all, it starts on 3 pulls or less, revs quickly and gets it done around my house.

    Best weedeater ever!
I bought this weedeater in may or june and i absolutely love it! The first time i replaced the line was a little difficult but now im used to it. I trim over 2 acres of land that has heavy brush and thick grass but this weedeater gets the job done. My line wears a lot probably because of the stuff i trim but im happy i bought it. Definitely recommend it and being 6'3" i dont really have to hunch over to trim. Great product. Also have a stihl FS 72 that my grandpa bought back in 1995. So thats ... read more why i bought this one to replace the old one when it finally goes.
