    Grass Shredder
This was my first weed eater purchase and it is nothing shy of perfect for around the house. I've used bigger commercial STIHL weed eaters in my previous landscaping job but I wanted one a little lighter. It's really easy to start and can take on jobs bigger than just normal lawn grass. I've cut through some thick weeds around my fence line with it with no problem. Love how easy it is to re-string too.

Just what I was looking for. I have a stihl blower vac and wanted the same reliability in a string trimmer.
Still in the break in period so only running at partial power. Even then, it has what is needed to get my trimming work done including that professional manicured look along the concrete edges (sidewalks and driveways). I read other online reviews and string advancement seemed to be an issue with some who posted comments and reviews. I have not had any problems at all with this product since purchase. A lot of power and value for a "homeowner" trimmer
I have owned this trimmer for three years now and have no buyers remorse. The clutched trimmer head is nice around flower beds, but can cut through really thick over growth. The straight shaft is nice for hard to reach areas. Low fuel and trimmer string consumption per operation, 6 gallons of fuel and still have original trimmer string in the head from when I bought it. The biggest surprise for me was the low noise level of the engine for the people around you, very nice for morning or evening ... read more workouts. I have owned two trimmers in the past and I feel this trimmer is everything Stihl advertises.

    Excellent!!!
I have used many trimmers over the last 15 years. I have found that Stihl's have always been the most reliable. This trimmer is fantastic! Light weight, great power, and completely dependable. The easy start is the way to go!. One half pull and the trimmer is at full speed ready to go! Best trimmer I have ever used! I recommended this trimmer to my friend who bought it the next wk. He said the same review to me as well.

    Good value.
Money well spent. Very satisfied with this unit. Being 6'4" leaves the length of the shoulder strap lacking. Can't quite get the head as close to the ground as I would like. I will be asking my dealer if there's a longer strap available. Otherwise I'm extremely happy with it. Starts easily every time.

My wife is a pioneering woman.
She wanted the EasyStart and the bicycle handles for control. She started at the house with the string head, but getting closer to the woods, some brush was more durable. She switched to the star blade brush knife and took down another acre of heavy, more woody brush. Then she ran into actual trees. So she put on the chisel tooth circular saw blade, and at that RPM it takes out a 2 inch tree in less than a second, and close to the ground. Wow, I really like this machine.

This trimmer is what I was expecting and hoping for!
I bought this trimmer because I always hear great things about stihl and tired of buying junk. I have pretty thick grass & brush and it performs excellent, I don't always have the luxury or waiting for a nice day to cut my grass and trim due to my work schedule so I sometimes wait about a hour after it's done raining and go at it. I have not had one issue with this trimmer it powers through wet thick grass and lives up to its name. Two of my other co workers have the same model and say the same ... read more it works flawlessly!!

    Awesome
This was my first purchase of a STIHL product. I always thought they were out of the price range of what I could afford. I was so tired of buying a new trimmer every couple of years, I decided to check out STIHL's. It was more affordable then I thought and having a half acre of landscaped property a good investment. The most awesome thing is it's so light, so easy to start and very sturdy. It will be around a long time! I plan to replace all my other yard equipment with STIHL as needed.

    Initial impressions
I've only used this trimmer three times, but so far it has lived up to my expectations (unlike my previous big-box trimmer). It starts easily, trims efficiently, stops quickly and is light enough for my 82-year-old muscles to handle. (I also bought a case of prefixed fuel, to I won't duplicate my last experience with a high-end trimmer.)

    Will continue buying STIHL
What I appreciate about STIHL are their focus on customer service. I know they're a brand that stands behind their product. If I need any maintenance or wish to do it myself and purchase parts, I can. Also, since these dealers also service the product, they know them front and back. Put simply, buying STIHL I am investing in the company and their proven track record. At the big box stores my relationship ends at the swipe of a card.

This is made for a taller man
I bought the FS50ce kind of by accident. I did not realize in the store this was the trimmer for taller men. I am 6'1'' and used to have a FS46 until ethanol gas wrecked it and I gave it to a friend. I went to the store just for a FS38. The store was sold out. I am glad they were out of stock. I am very happy with the extra 8 inches. I am also really happy with the easy2start and the choke system. Very good fuel economy as well. So far I have only run Stihl Moto mix in this trimmer. I have used ... read more it about 10 times now and my back is happy.

    this product has great features
In the old days, Stihl trimmers were no problems for me. I have a Stihl chainsaw that was bought 15 or so years ago, and it is still awesome today. The trimmers of yesteryear worked very well. You didn't have to worry about the starter rope pulling out. I am not comfortable pulling the rope '' gently'' to start the trimmer. Also, I get maybe 15 to 20 min on fuel, then have to fill it up again. The string is too thin for my yard. Stihl has been my choice almost forever, I do recommend Stihl though.
