Shredder Vacs

STIHL shredder vacs are all about shredding yard waste without shredding your budget. Each STIHL shredder vac is actually two powerful tools in one: A powerful shredder capable of transforming the equivalent of 14 bags of dry leaves into a single bag of clippings, as well as a fuel-efficient blower. And it comes standard with the necessary parts to convert easily to a handheld blower and back to a shredder, depending on your task. To help you identify model features, look for these corresponding symbols: C = Comfort feature and E = Easy2Start™.

After the leaves and yard clippings have been gathered, it’s time to shred. Each STIHL shredder vac features a specially designed shredder blade located on the fan wheel. This efficient design reduces yard waste at a 14:1 ratio for dry leaves. And as it shreds, the clippings accumulate in a secure, easy-open zippered bag for convenient emptying. The tube makes it easy to get in and between shrubs and other hard-to-reach places.

This blow/vac is worth every penny!!!
I've owned this product for about six weeks and have used it every weekend. I've used the shredder system twice. The easy to start system STIHL has is second to none. I've tried several other brands, and finally decided to spend the extra money and get a well known and reliable blow/vac. I wish I would have bought this a long time ago. The ease of use is superb. Switching over from blower to shredder is very easy; Especially after you do it the first time. Don't waste your money on other ... read more brands. Bite the bullet and get a STIHL.

    Great, but lacking one feature
The blower is easy to start, relatively light, has great power, but lacks a feature. The old Stihl blower this replaced, and other current Stihl models, have a feature where you can lock the trigger in full power. This model lacks what would seem to be very easy to incorporate a means of locking the trigger at full power. Having to keep the finger manually depressed is annoying.

Light and easy to start and control!
I have had "economy" equipment in the past. My dad was always a Stihl man so when we saw the line of Stihl power equipment and after struggling with one of the "economy" brands we bought the Stihl. We absolutely love it! It is light enough and easy enough to use that both of us love to use it. We purchased the gutter attachment and now no more climbing ladders to clean the gutters. What a versatile machine. It is easy to start and the trigger throttle control allows me to control the power and not make a mess.

    Great two in one product
Both blower side and vac side work great. Bag could be bigger, maybe a backpack style bag with a larger capacity. I have a large mature oak trees and works great in and around the flower beds. However, it does not like the acorns. I have a lot of Sthil products, two chain saws, a weed trimmer, and now the blower vac. Great long lasting products.one of my chain saws is 42 years old and still works great. I'd like to see Sthil make a good snow blower . I highly recommend this product.

    Great power but small bag
The tubes are difficult to put on and remove but not a huge problem after you get the hang of it. Power is the best I've seen in a gas blower/vac. The most frustrating thing is the coming up to a yard full of leaves with a vac that has such a small bag. There should be an optional accessory that has either a MUCH larger bag or attachment to a large garbage can. The bag is also hard to empty. The zipper should come around the corner and up the side a ways.

    Not Bad
Just bought this today and used it immediately. Once you get used to starting this, it will start with one pull. Took me several attempts to get the hand of things (read your manual). The shredded leaves are VERY small and desirable in consistancy. It did plug three times from ingesting a wine cork (burp) and some small twigs. It was powerful enough to lift some small river rocks. The blower is great. It took care of moving several years of leaves stuck under three cars (unlike my Weedeater ... read more GBI 30V - but hey - the Stihl has a larger engine) Overall rating: 4.5 stars
