excellent power and control of air streams

It funnels more air into a smaller size that moves mountain of leaves with ease. You can easily control the edges where the blower air stream is distinct unlike other blowers. Exceptional Product
I recently purchased and had a few months. It starts up very easily and the vibration dampening system is amazing as your hands do not get numb. It is also relatively quiet and powerful as well. I would recommend spending a few extra bucks to get a good quality product. Great Investment!

Good, but a few issues early on.
I have only had this machine about 4 - 6 weeks and have given it only light use so far. But it has been easy to start and operate. Air flow and velocity seem good and it really has not been as noisy as the electric blower I had before. I really like not having a cord to get out, drag around, and put up. I did have a problem while on my 3rd tank of fuel and took it for service. They replaced the carburetor within 2 days and it now seems OK.

best power to weight ratio of any blower with cool features
i have been a stihl fan for years except blowers. i saw this the other day , demoed it and took it home. you hit a home run with this one stihl. its light and powerful. the adjustable nozzle works great for me to adapt to my needs. it can play ball with the two strongest blowers out there.. the echo pb770t and redmax ebz8500.. and is lighter. i own all three blowers mentioned above and use them all but cant keep my br450 off my back. love it stihl. p.s. stihl i also own ( orange and white ;) ... read more ) ms192 ms290 fs100rx fc110 bt45 hl100

    Pushing Leaves
Working almost 3 acres of mixed woodland. Bought this today and 5 tanks of gas later I can say I put a major dent in the leaves and pine needles. Almost bought an echo which are cheaper but Stihl has always delivered on their other products. I have a few. Wish we could burn these leaves like we did as kids.

If you have land and need to save on time you need this product!
We purchased this blower and we have been extremely happy with it. One reason I could'nt decide if I wanted to purchase it was because I was unsure if was going to be too heavy or too loud for me to handel. It is just the opposite. It runs really quiet for a backpack, it is much lighter than I expected, and is very fuel efficient. After the recall on the gas cap, the product ran great with power to spare! It also cranks easily. I would recommend the BR 550 to anyone who is looking for a blower ... read more that has plenty of power for any job.

    Great Blower
I replaced my BR320 with the BR550. The new "smart" carburetor works exceptionally well so that startup is simple, and the engine usually fires on the first pull. Power is sufficient for me to move leaves and clean out grass clippings from underneath my mower deck. The locking trigger is a nice feature carried over from earlier blower variants. I have yet to use the BR550 to clear light snowfalls but it should work well as the BR320 with much less power did a fair job at that task. The quality ... read more of the BR550 meets the expectations I have for my Stihl products.

Best Blower for My needs that I could find.
First I observed which brand the professionals use. Then I read all internet reviews I could find. Finally I visited a retailer and asked for a demonstration. Only after it passed all those tests did I purchase a BR 550. While it is not a full out professional model, nether am I. A rack to help mount the blower on my back would be nice but otherwise I am thrilled with this machine. I even volunteered to clear the next door widow woman's gutters and whatever. I love this machine. It starts, it ... read more runs well (still getting used to the non 2-cycle sound), and should the rest of my life.

    Time saver
This blower has tripled my productivity. After using this blower commercially I am amazed at the amount of time it has saved me. Features I like: Electric start Moveable throttle to your arm length The self contained blower tube is fantastic. Power is very sufficient. Cons: shoulder straps are bad for such a high dollar blower. It seems like they were an after thought. It gets uncomfortable during long periods of usage. The blower is thirsty, has a big tank for fuel but it can go through ... read more it rather quickly.

    Incredible product
Had my fill of handhelds. This blower is the most powerful I've ever used - and it doesn't seem to matter if the leaves are dry or not. It initially seems a little heavy but once on with the straps adjusted, it is very comfortable. The tube being adjustable is great - and of course the electric start is awesome. Highly recommended.

AWESOME BLOWER FOR PRO'S OR HOMEOWNER!
First, this is the best blower I have ever used.I have had echo, shindy, redmax etc. I also have the stihl br600 magnum, great blower also.the br450 cef has lower numbers on m.p.h and cfm, but you cannot tell a difference blowing.plus the electric start and tube make up the difference. Blows wet grass clippings, wet leaves and moves piles of dry leaves with ease. The end tube decreaser is great for moving wet material, remove that and moves piles and piles of dry leaves. Very comfortable, ... read more convenient and reliable. I WOULD RECCOMEND THIS BLOWER TO ANY PRO OR HOMEOWNER.

    More than I expected
Rated it highest, but I've owned it for only about a month. I've used it several times with no problems. The power is is more than I expected. I though 25 pds, with fuel, on my back would be heavy, but it's not. Very comfortable harness and throttle handle. I'm daring the leafs to fall in my yard this year. Great product

    My first backpack blower
Awesome! I was concerned about the power based on the outlet diameter and comparing it to what I see the professionals using. I was pleasantly surprised that this blower has more than enough power for what I need around the house and the vegetable garden. Rest assured that this blower can handle anything you need.

The BR430 is the power I need
I have a BG86 hand blower which has worked well, yet did not have the power to blow piles of leaves. The BR430 is new and has all the power I need. The BG86 starts easily. The BR 430 is trickier in that once the engine is started, you have to reach over and nudge the throttle lever. If not quick enough, the engine quits and has to be restarted with a few pulls. While relatively new in usage, the BR430 was a good choice.

    Very powerful
Good ergonomics, very powerful. Starts very good. Can't stand small engines that are hard to start. If it does not start on the second pull its out of gas. I run only non ethanol fuel to reduce build up and for extended fuel life. I have a lot of trees. Oaks and hickory. This thing blows large piles of hickory nuts almost like leaves. Had it for a year now and it gets a real workout at my place. I replaced a smaller husqvarna with this thing when it got hard to start. It runs circles around any ... read more blower I have ever used

    Excellent power, shoulder straps lacking
I have several other Stihl power products but when my old backpack blower recently broke I replaced it with the BR600. The BR600 has excellent power, easy to start, and has cut my leaf blowing time considerably. My only complaint is the shoulder strap setup is very uncomfortable compared to my old blower. The shoulder straps are to thin and tend to twist and the padded sections are to narrow. I find myself spending too much time readjusting the straps while operating the unit.

This is the BEAST of all blowers
This is my second 600 blower, and it never disappoints. The tasks I use this for around rhe neighborhood make the neighbors marvel at the power compared to their other brand blowers that are marketed as "good alternatives" to Stihl.... subsequently, I sold my first 600 to my neighbor... I hated to see it go, but I promptly went out and bought the newest 600.... EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST!!
