    Excellent tool for medium duty.
I’m a residential user with one acre of land and many mature hardwood trees. I use three blowers, a Stihl BG50 handheld for clearing around the house and shrubs, a six horsepower rotary blower for moving the heaviest fall leaves and the Stihl BGA56 battery powered blower for lighter duty clearing on my deck, carport, driveway and sidewalk. This is the blower that I most often use year round. It is extremely convenient, lightweight, quiet and easy to use. It is not not the equivalent of a gas ... read more powered blower for moving large quantities of wet leaves in grassy areas but is so convenient for lighter duty use. It’s a great product and my local ACE HARDWARE is great to work with.

    Impressive Blower
My wife claims I have to have two of every thing, now I have three Stihl blowers backpack, hand held now battery. I was a little leary about buying this battery operated blower, most that I have tried in the big box stores have been very low on power with very little battery life. But again Stihl with its quality and reputation has come out with a battery operated blower that does everything I require. The battery life is exceptional and the power I’m extremely impressed, I have a tree ... read more that is constantly dropping leafs in the driveway front of the garage and the side of the house. After the battery charge for 24 hours I blew the driveway both sides of house and anything that I could do to test the power and the battery life. The power was exceptional and after I completed the task I pulled the battery out of the blower stuck it in the charger and it only required one green bar to charge the battery back fully. After I purchased it on my way home I was having a little buyers remorse but I was really sick and tired of every time I needed to use the blower I had to go find a gas can and fill one of the blowers up. I think this is going to really work out well.

Works well. Important to Understand Battery Run Time
Blowers use a tremendous amount of battery power, so it is important to understand the expected run time of your product with the particular battery you purchase. Stihl recommends using the AK 20 Battery with this BGA 56 Battery Blower. As stated in the specs, this should give "Up to 20 Minutes" of run time. Note that if you use the smaller AK 10 battery, the specs state "Up to 9 minutes of run time". When considering which model to purchase, I narrowed my selection down to two ... read more choices: -- BGA 45 (onboard battery, Run Time = 10 minutes) -- BGA 56 (w/ AK 20 battery pack, Run Time = 20 minutes) I chose the BGA 56 for the extra run time. This product works very well, and I am only a moderate user (clearing driveway, garage and sidewalks of leaves).

Just as powerful as gas blowers
First off, this blower is just as powerful as gas blowers I've used. I picked it over gas blowers because I didn't want to mess with having premix fuel around and also it is lighter weight and doesn't vibrate like gas blowers. I like that this blower's battery is held in a belt holster instead of in the blower itself. This keeps the unit light weight wear it counts. I ended up using the shoulder strap that came with my string trimmer on the battery holster instead of a belt since I am usually ... read more wearing athletic shorts. I like that the same battery works for this blower and my string trimmer. I've had this blower and string trimmer for 2 years now and am now looking at getting a chainsaw and hedge trimmer that use the same batteries.

    Cadillac of cordless blowers
I wanted a handheld cordless blower that is quiet, lightweight and powerful enough to handle fall leaf requirements. Even though I am a Stihl aficionado, I gave the popular black and gray blowers sold exclusively at a well-known home improvement store long and serious consideration before I bought this one, mainly because of the expense of this blower and its required battery tethering accessory. I'm a just a blue collar homeowner with a small, heavily treed residential lot, not a pro, but ... read more lately I've become more aware of the noise generated by my gas blower, even though gas blowers abound where I live. I've also owned a BGA 56 for a year and a half. It's my first cordless blower and it has become my most often-used yard implement. Long story short, this is the 56 on steroids. Is it worth it? Very subjective question, but in my opinion, yes. Keep in mind, you're buying a powerful, very quiet, extremely well-constructed blower made unusually light-weight because of its unique tethering arrangement, not just a standard "PRC-made" cordless blower. Also, if you intend to buy more tools within the AP system, the initial accessory purchases become easier to stomach. I'm happy with this purchase.

    Works great
We have used this blower for our garages, patio (which is quite large), and drives. Blows rocks, debris, etc and I can do all of them on a single charge. I was tired of the others I had where I needed several batteries to complete the job and they did not have near the blower velocity that this one does. I actually bought it for my wife since she just can't seem to fire up the gas blower :) But, I still seem to be the one that uses it.

    Great Blower
This blower is readily available to clean off my porch, blow the sawdust out of my shop, clean up my garage, and many other small chores around the home. No cords to drag around and no fuel to mess with. Just plug it into the charger after using. Love this blower

    Good value for the price.
Great power and good battery life but should always have a back up battery.

    BGA Blower
I purchased this to replace my gas powered blower which isn't used much in the winter season and I have the usual problems getting it started for the first time in spring. This time the pull rope broke. Other times it's the hoses or carburetor. My new BGA85 works like a champ. Just pick it up and get to work. I don't use ear plugs but you can if you feel the need. It is as heavy as the gas blower but well balance with the battery installed. Not a problem for me with bad wrists.

Love the ease of use and dependability. Quality product.
First purchase of my own Stihl battery powered tool, but I have used several of the products in the line and I love them. They are so easy to use and easy to maintain. The battery life is good and the blower is lightweight yet sturdy. Might not be the cheapest blower out there but I think it is the best value.

    Fully meets all my expectations
Bought it to blow leaves off the roof and clear the gutters. Does all that and more. Even used it this morning to blow the snow off the driveway and Suburban in 10 degree temperature. Using the 160 battery it lasted a full 30 minutes even at that temperature! May have to buy a second 160 battery to increase use life (driveway 150' long) but overall with the sole exception of the high price I love the machine. It is light enough that my wife will use it while she would never use a gas blower of ... read more which I have several.
