An Office With A Hell Of A View

Tree work isn’t for everyone. It takes skill, resilience, and a determination that doesn’t waver in the face of danger. It’s a job that demands strength but rewards precision—where every cut matters, and every climb brings new challenges. It’s not just about tree
felling; it’s about problem-solving, reading the landscape, and making split-second decisions that keep others safe.
Crafting the Canopy—Arborist
Whether responding to disasters or preserving the forests she loves, Katelyn Johnson is driven by passion and purpose. Like so many in this field, she's drawn to the work for more than just adrenaline—it's the satisfaction of mastering a craft, the solitude found high in the treetops, and the quiet sense of accomplishment in leaving a place better than she found it. It's demanding work. But for those who belong in it, there's no better place to be.

Shoot your shot

High up in a tree, every move you make is deliberate. Once Katelyn gets her ropes in place, she secures her harness and uses ascenders and carabiners to pull herself higher, at times even locking her feet into the harness for extra leverage. Depending on the job, she may add climbing spurs to the mix for added grip, but safety and precision always come first.
Arborist Katelyn Johnson quote: Out in the field, having a breakdown can be devastating. Luckily, that never happens to me with my STIHL chainsaws.
