Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I've had mine for a couple of months. It works great. Before I paid for it I filled it with 3 gallons of water and walked around in the store to see how heavy it was.It was surprisingly not bad at all. I only use it 30 minutes or less at a time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from waste of money for me I bought the SR450 for dusting. I do research and needed a duster to apply different amounts (lbs/Acre) of specific materials. I read the manual and could not find anything in it regarding calibrating dry materials. So I called Stihl and they were no help either except to tell me what I wanted the machine for could not be done. Why have a duster if you can't calibrate it?? Absolutely makes no sense. If anyone out there has a clue of how to deal with this problem, please let me know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine - slightly heavy when full I live next to a cattail slew with 2 ponds right behind my house - lots of Mosquito's. This sprayer has made my yard usable in the summer - works perfect for covering a large area - I have 4 acres of yard. Starts easy, a little awkward to put on when full and slightly heavy - sprays beautiful and only takes around 15 minutes and 2 fills to get my whole area done. I have on order the extra pump to keep it primed when you aim the sprayer up into the tree's. I also use this to spray 2 apple tree's and can cover a tree in seconds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Professional Pest Control If you're using a regular backpack sprayer this is a serious upgrade. Pros: Great spray coverage, easy to opperate, reliableCons: considering its for spraying pesticides/herbicide it's a little leaky at the nozzle and gasket that holds the tank, Heavy when full, desperately needs an electronic start like the regular 450 All in all it's a money maker

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little heavy, but does a great job. I purchased this sprayer to apply mosquito insecticide. I am surrounded by large trees/woods and this sprayer was able to get the liquid up high where it needed to be. Once I learned how to control the amount of liquid and the rpm's things couldn't have gone better. For bushes/shrubs I found that less rpm's works best and doesn't damage the foliage. When needed the sprayer has the power to reach out a long way into the woods, I'd say about thirty feet or more. I am going to order the optional hip belt to help make things a little more secure. Great product. I have three Stihl chainsaws and now this sprayer, love Stihl.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Miss the sr420 I got the SR 420 back in 2005. Are use that backpack like crazy. I’m a pest control operator and I used it for mosquito control. I only had to replace the pull string and the screen part where the smoke comes out. The shut off switch broke but it wasn’t worth fixing since I just have to turn the knob to choke. That was a brilliant piece of equipment. I had to replace it last year, 2017. That SR 420 lasted 12 years. I had to get the SR 450 because the SR 430 was not available and beggars cannot be choosy or‘s. Upon purchasing the SR 450, it seem to work pretty well initially. This year, it takes me forever to get the thing started. It won’t start like the SR 420 dead. Not my favorite piece of equipment. I do need to get the SR 420 fixed, if I can. But the SR 450, not that great.
