    Best equipment ever
I used other brands of trimmers for years and it was always a struggle. Much down time and repair and hang ups. I bought a Stihl trimmer and it was a dream. It cut the thick evergreen hedges like butter. Why didn't I get a Still earlier? It would have saved me time, frustration and money. I will always buy Stihl from now on.

Great Tool for Southern Properties with lots of shrubs
I bought this trimmer about six years ago, wishing that I had done so earlier. Where I lived at the time in GA, shrubs grow quickly so keeping up with the growth required long-reach trimming about each two weeks during the long growing season there. This machine always starts on the first or second pull of the starter rope if I follow the starting instructions. To keep it sharp, I always store it with the plastic guard in place and oil the cutter bar after each use with spray-on applications of ... read more WD-40, I am a homeowner in another state right now, it coming in mighty handy again for maintaining my landscape plants here as well. I expect it to last a long time, just like my Stihl chainsaw that is now 31 years old. I am finding that my small engines last a long time if I completely avoid using fuels that contain ethanol. Even big box stores now sell premixed gasoline for 2-stroke engines that contain no ethanol. Incidentally, this trimmer starts well, even on relatively cold mornings in WI where I now reside,

    Versatile and powerful
I have had this trimmer for 3 years now and feel comfortable rating it. It has great power and ergonomics. The rotating rear handle is very comfortable and easily adjusted to suit any cutting angle. I purchased the "R" model to use for cutting back large hedges to a more manageable size, as well as maintaining leafy shrubs. I find that it cuts well in both applications. It will zip through 1 1/4" limbs with ease, and I have no issue shaping leafy shrubs perfectly. The trimmer is well balanced ... read more with a 30" blade and is relatively fuel efficient, although the fuel tank is a tad small, which I see has been corrected in the 82R. It was on the pricier side of trimmers I had looked at, but certainly is worth the money if you have a volume and variety of trimming to do. I use the HP ultra oil and 93 octane ethanol free fuel, 1 pull start every time.

The quality of this product really shows
I have been using this new trimmer for a while now and I am really impressed with the overall quality of the product. This trimmer cuts through some large branches as well allowing for trimming of new areas as well as just upkeep on hedges. The large fuel tank allows for work to continue without constant refueling. I would recommend this product for anyone who does a decent amount of trimming. it is a little more expensive than some of the home store models but it seems like it will pay off in ... read more the long run. The only draw back is it is a somewhat heavy machine so may not be an ideal choice if you are concerned with weight.

    Trail Maintenance
We use our trimmer to cut brush in the Capitol Forest in Washington. Our trimmer is surprisingly fuel efficient and capable of cutting medium to high brush. We opted for the 24" bar so more people could handle the trimmer.

    Excellent
I have this for heavy duty hedge trimming. The hedges are salt seeder trees cut down and trimmed as hedges. No other trimmer that I have tried can handle the job. Current trimmer is 8 years old and works thru the AZ summers of 120 deg plus. Love it.

    Pricey but worth it!!!
I am a homeowner, but I do a lot of hedge trimming. The HS 56 C-E is an amazing tool that handles big jobs with ease, is great for detail work, and thanks to the guard at the end of the blade it is great close to the ground as well. The ergonomics, leight weight, and overall balanced feel made this unit the easy choice over the Husqvarna and Echo units I looked at.

    AWESOME!!!
I have several stihl hedge trimmers. this one is my favorite so far. This one is great because I can run the protective tip cover on the much and other places without worrying about damage. As a landscaper who specializes in trimming & shaping, this cuts cleanly & smoothly, plus its relatively* light (I'm a small woman*) and easy for me to start. After experiencing Stihl, other tools seem mediocre.

    Excellent
Having used several different hedge trimmers which cost a fraction of what this did I was never pleased with the results. This trimmer has made the investment worthwhile. I will never buy cheap again this starts every time and will cut anything I can get between the teeth. Great overall product with no major complaints. I only wish it had a higher neck on the gas tank so I could get it all the way full without having to negotiate around the handle and tilting the machine.

    My best Money Maker

I pull this out got to there door and strike a deal. I can make $150 in an hour just cutting their mess. Takes no time at all. Cuts through Parasitic Vines on trees that grow all over them in as fast as you can brandish this unit. trims and cuts Crape myrtles New growths Fast and to the ground. I even misuse this and cut through ground brush and ... read more Mondo Grass/ Monky Grass and do clear cutting. It has even gone through copper Sprinkler lines so be careful there. Cuts through larger branches in the way to if held on them for a few seconds. Had some 18 foot monster hedges and this went through them in record time. 4 hours before with other trimmers 30 minutes with this. I love knocking Down Over Grown Rose Bushes with it. Cut them up then slice and dice them into small pieces to shove into a bag. I am a handy man and I put this tool to its MAXX Abilities at multiple sites a week. Its NEVER leaving my tool truck. I can make my Rent in a week using this. Just a wagon This tool and a box of trash bags and a rake. Can make $900 a week walking down the street.

You get what you pay for!!
I used these for the first time on a large property that was extremely overgrown. Trimmed up touchy boxwoods cleanly. Cut right through large woody branches on burning bushes with ease, grasses, evergreens, everything. It ran much, much longer on a single tank of fuel than the 46 I've used professionally the last 6 years. I love this unit and can't wait to use it again.

    OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE!
I now own 2 of these units. They are exceptionally efficient, easy to use and comfortable to operate. I own many stihl products, and this is yet another amazing versatile tool. Starts easily and has an insane amount of power, cuts overgrown hedges easily and leaves a nice clean cut every time. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS!
