    HS 45 with 24inch blades
If ever there was a great hedge trimmer, it bleeds orange and grey! This HS 45 has power and fast trimming ability on even on thick branches! I decided to get the 24 inch blades for off property jobs and it was well worth it. Unfortunately, there are some drawbacks: During the beginning of the season, it does take a good amount of pulling to start it up, but I found that the MotoMix helps cut that away. The engine is a little loud, but the Stihl ear protection equipment takes care of that right ... read more away. The fuel tank is very small but refueling is a snap. Finally, the unit does get a little heavy if you haven't used it in awhile. ;) All in all this hedge trimmer is well worth your money and most importantly, your time!

The best machine that money can buy and worth every penny!!
There is a saying that goes "you buy cheap and you will buy twice". This is true, when I first bought my home 5 years ago, my wife bought a cheap electric hedge trimmer. She used it a handful of times and it quickly started having problems such lack power, the plastic coverings were cracking and breaking at the handle, the electric plug base was getting loose and the extension cord would come out during trimming sessions just to name few. I picked up this STIHL model hedge trimmer and I ... read more immediately noticed the superior quality in design and performance. This trimmer is a beast and surprisingly very nimble and agile to handle and control. It's makes the harder jobs faster to get through without any problems. This device is lightweight, powerful, easy to handle and looks very sleek! Like I said before, money well spent!

    Great Hedge Trimmer
I purchased this hedge trimmer to ease my task of trimming all the bushes on my 3 acre yard. What would have taken me several hours was cut down (pun intended) to just over an hour. These trimmers are easy to start, have plenty of power, and are easy to handle. If you have used any of the other Stihl products, this one will be a breeze to operate and maintain.

    Monster
I bought this model to trim an overgrown 20 year old Privet hedge. Cut through 1”+ branches easily. Do not buy this model without the available harness for the battery pack it will literally pull your shorts off! Seriously this model does the trick.

Great tool for fall perennial garden.
I bought the HSA 94 R for my wife to cut down perennials in the fall. We used to use a modified string trimmer with a saw blade but it was too dangerous. This works great in cutting tough perennial stems and even fleshy hostas. There is plenty of power which seemed to outlast us and a nice long cutter bar. We used it for about 45 minutes until we had to go in for dinner and there was no indication of any power loss. The handle and grip are very comfortable. The only issue we have is that there ... read more are four safety triggers plus the key that must all be engaged in order to start the trimmer. It takes a little getting used to but we eventually got the hang of it. Our old process involved me cutting the plants down with the modified string trimmer and my wife coming along and picking up the mess I made. Now I grasp the plant and gather it together and she takes the HSA 94 R and cuts the plant at the base. I deposit the plant in the garden trailer. Done! My wife commented that this was one of her all time favorite gifts.

    Nice little trimmer....not too dependable
I got this hedge trimmer for Mother's Day 2018 to primarily be used for trimming vines (mostly honeysuckle) on about 500' of chain link fence. In my experience a fully charged battery lasts about 30 minutes with constant use. It is lightweight and easy to operate. So far, so good. The issue I had was, even after spraying the blades with Stihl resin remover/lube as instructed by the salesman, if the trimmer was idle for a few weeks the motor would not engage the blades. It seemed to be stuck. I ... read more returned the trimmer to the dealer and was given a replacement. The next time this happened I left it at the dealership for two weeks to see if they could fix the problem. They could not, and I was given another replacement. I did not use the trimmer during the winter months and when I tried to use it just last week I again had the same issue.

    Time saver
For 50 years been using junky hedge trimmers. Broke down and purchased "to me" expensive ones! Omg..Stihl where have you been all my life? Cut down the cutting time for my 39 hedges to one half the time. This is more than amazing...its a miracle. At age 65, being female the weight was not cumbersome at all to use and lift up and down. One very very happy customer. Barb polakoff

    Very Happy with purchase
I have been buying Stihl products for 25 years and have never been disappointed. My recent purchase of a new set of hedge trimmers did not disappoint. I know when I purchase a product from Stihl I am getting a high quality product. I will be purchasing a pressure washer before the end of the week. Really cannot say enough about my experience with Stihl.

Great tool and makes the job more efficient.
I use this tool on a daily basis and everyday it performs very well. The only issue I have is that after only three hours of operation, the nut, bolt and washer fell off the handle. Luckily I was able to find it in my customers lawn. Ten minutes and I was up and going again. This is the reason for the 4 on quality. I do recommend this tool and most Stilh products.

Great addition to my stihl lineup
I have several tall hedges and holly bushes on my property. Working off a ladder and trying to get the ladder in the correct spot was a real problem. This beast is excellent, I can now reach them from the ground and it has the power to cut the tough stuff. I was initially reluctant about the rotating head, but man am I glad I went for this option, it helps a lot. The ergonomic benefit of this option allows you to cut longer without tiring from holding the shorter trimmers out in front of you. ... read more The weight and balance is spot on. The only regret I have is not purchasing it sooner.

Kombi Motor and extension HL94 (145*)
Purchased the Kombi motor and the 145* attachment for trimming my hedges and am totally satisfied. The weight is something I needed to get used to. The products are first rate and I would highly recommend to all. I had tried other brand units but as I observed that the staff of most landscaping firms in Bermuda use Stihl I made a few inquiries about the units. Everyone I spoke with are sold on Stihl and sing its praises. Therefore, I decided to go with the plethora of recommendations and am ... read more elated I did. Worth every dollar spent!!!

    HS87R Great hedge trimmer
I had a 28 inch electric prior to purchasing this outstanding trimmer. What took me 3 or 4 hours to trim is now completed in less than an hour, without having to use manual trimmers and cutters on large branches. Great product, easy to start. I should have bought one long ago.

Did the job without draining the battery
I bought the HSA 56 to replace my plug in hedge trimmer that I've had for decades and as a substitute for my extended HL unit that can get pretty heavy. Because it is so quiet, very early one morning, before it got too hot, we trimmed and shaped up 5 - 6 foot tall Hollies as well as a much larger Nellie Stevens holly. In addition my wife used it to help shape a 6 foot long 3 ft high 2 ft wide hedge. I was happy that it cut through branches that were about 3/4" thick with ease. At the end of the ... read more process there were still two bars left on the AK 10 battery. I had another battery charged and ready to go, but I didn't need it. Overall we are happy with the HSA and a local charity is happy with the donated plug in hedge trimmer. My wife is hapoy that she can move away from hand sheers for trimming and shaping and can just drop in a battery and go to town. HSA Blower is next on the buy list.

    Expensive but works very well
I live in the Los Angeles area. I need to trim my hedges two to three times per year. My gas hedge trimmer would not start [again]. Probably the gas went bad [again]. I get tired of adding new gas with oil and using only a portion to trim, and then storing the gas only to see it go bad months later [again]. And I do not want another corded electric tool. So I investigated the battery trimmers. On special sale, I purchased the FSA56 string trimmer and the HSA56 hedge trimmer and therefore got two ... read more batteries and chargers. I didn't think the hedge trimmer would hold up to the gas powered trimmer but it does. It is easier to use, lighter, and cuts just as well if not better. Having two batteries allowed me to run for a long time and I still had half-power left in the second battery when I was done. Stihl, you made a believer out of me for battery powered tools.

Exactly what I was looking for
Easy to handle, powerful, and a decent battery. A bonus is that it uses the same battery as our string trimmer. A corded electric trimmer would not work here, and a gas trimmer is too heavy. This hits the sweet spot.
