    Awesome
Have been heating with wood for 20 years. It was a real debate to spend the money on this maul....until I used it, definitely worth the money. Using hardware store mauls the handles lasted about 2 cords of wood, this handle wont break. This maul hits and splits like a much heavier tool, and goes through knots etc. other mauls wont

    Best maul I’ve used
Well Built. Nice weight, heavy enough to split the big logs but light enough to not tire you out. Solid handle, metal sleeve keeps handle together if you miss. Definitely worth every penny

    Super pruners
I love these pruners. I like them more than my name brand pruners. They have held up well. I like they way you squeeze the pruner to open the blades. They are indestructible and so easy to use. I have two pairs I like them so much, a smaller and these.

    Good As it gets
I bought these and was so impressed I bought another pair and pp80. Over the red handled hand pruners claiming to be best and more expensive. Use non stop hold an edge.

Best set of pruners I've ever owned!
I am not one that likes to write reviews, but this product made me want to tell everyone about it. I live on a 13 acre organic farm and have several hundred Green Ash trees (1-10 yr old) along with Red Twig Dogwood, Buckthorn, Hawthorne, Sugar Maple, Cherry, etc. I have gone through several pruners in the past trying to keep the property under control, and all of them have failed me after a few uses. I finally decided to give Stihl a try, and I wish I had started with them in the first place! ... read more The quality and reliability of these pruners is out of this world! The other pruners that I had would slightly bend and dull very quickly when I would prune limbs over 1/2" in diameter. The Stihl PP40 pruners not only cut through large 1-1/2" limbs, but leave a nice clean cut so that the tree can heal properly! I have used these on well over 200 trees and bushes and they still are as sharp as the day I bought them. I not only prune limbs off of the trees, but also cut each of the limbs into a mulch as I go. I honestly am totally amazed at how well these pruners work and how sharp the blade stays after so many uses! If you want a GREAT pair of pruners, like none you've ever used before, then these are for you!!

    Packs a punch!
I was amazed how effortless it was to cut off thick branches with this lopper. I felt like I did not have to use any excessive amount of force like other cheaper ones I bought in the past from the garden department of the the big box stores. This tool is well made and very lightweight. I was delighted by the ease of the handling and the rubber soft grips were very nice to hold onto. The blades are razor sharp!!!

    Great product
Great product a real time saver went right through oak and pine limbs without problems. Very little effort required so you can get the job done. I used this with the ms460 and ms180 and makes quick work of the trees. 32 inch handles save your back also especially if your over 6 foot.

    Best value I've seen
I have bought and returned several small hatchets to do some limb splitting around the house. Most in this price range without dropping a ton of money on a Scandinavian one are dull as a marble. This one came with a nice edge, and it seems to be holding well; I took a file to it anyway and now it's fit to shave my whiskers. A couple of feedback items: I purchased this from an ACE Hardware dealer and it was covered in stickers. Certainly not STIHL's fault but I took quite a bit of paint off ... read more the hatchet getting them removed. Not that it should be, but be aware the paint is not chemically resistant. Secondly, it did come with a rubber sheath, and I would really like to see that listed on this page (and for all of their axes) under "accessories" as a stand-alone item. This hatchet feels like it will last a long time and I'd like to be able to continue to protect the edge.

Best head ever, replaced with longer handle - best mini axe ever !!!!!
When I look at these hatchets at a STHL authorized dealer, 6 out of 7 had loose handles. But this did not discourage me because I know what makes a good axe/hatchet head and this one is superb ! Now fitted with a 20 inch handle it is a better small forest axe than Gransfors or any others that cost more than double what I paid even after the cost of fitting a better and longer handle. I would give this hatchet a perfect score except I guess I have to rate the handle it comes with. If you don't ... read more mind repacing the handle then this axe is for you. I give the axe head a 10 out of 10. I only Wish I could post pics of how beautiful it looks now :) Going to buy the forestry axe and yes, fit a bigger and nicer handle to it to make it the best all round axe money can buy for a fraction of the competition :) LOVE STHL axe heads (just not the handles so much) - still well worth buying. If I could buy just the heads then I'd buy them ALL !!!!!

    Pretty good light hatchet
I have been using this little Axe/Hatchet around my property in East Texas mainly cutting Sweet Gum trees sprouting up. It is a handy size and weight for easy and convenient carry around my property so, I am more likely to have it with me than a bigger heavier axe. That being said, in general, I find this axe to be too light for general light clean up work on my property. The axe head itself seems to be a bit soft as it dulls too fast IMHO on soft wood. The axe/hatchet itself is a good ... read more compromise between convenience in size and weight and cutting power and efficiency. Above 2" diameter soft wood, this axe will struggle a bit but get the job done. Smaller material will cut in a good swing or two. The balance and dynamics using it are very good. The shape of the head (pattern) provides a very good 'bite' into stuff. I do wish the head was a bit heavier for more cutting power. I also find the cutting edge seems to dull a bit faster than some of my other axes so, that is a bit disappointing but, not out of line for how I see an axe like this being used. For light yard work and general light camping, it is a good choice with its balanced size and weight providing a good blend of functionality for limited work in recreational or backyard settings. The head pattern is a good one for someone new to axes who may not have the best 'aim' since the broad blade and cutting edge really sticks into the wood and doesn't slip off or deflect too easily. For more serious work such as limbing when cutting firewood and similar activities, a heavier and harder head is needed with more cutting power and a longer lasting cutting edge.

    attachment setup is wrong
Overall quality is nice; good quality leather and snaps but the clip is all wrong. The older ones were on the back but this was is on the front so you have to clip it on backwards which makes it hard in a tree climbing situation.

    Very durable, well made Sheath!
I bought the Leather Sheath along with the PS70 pruning saw. This is a high quality, leather sheath that protects my saw wherever I go. The leather has held up to many years of riding in my trunk. I would highly recommend buying the sheath when purchasing the PS70.
