Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good saw but those carbs suck So I have three of these saws with 16" barsThey are used daily and year round. They are powerful and smooth. After less than a year I had to put a new carb in one. The technician I talked to says that he's replaced more than 10 carbs in the ms201tc this year and that the computer is useless to get information from. Some things that need improvement -the air filter cover sucks. It's brittle-the m tronic carb is prone to failure and needs replacement These problems shouldn't be happening with stihl products

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One handed greatness Bought this little guy for in-tree use and small around the house stuff but find my self using it for big stuff i would normally use my 362 cm for. Tiny saw with boat loads of torque. You cant beet it when it come to a small saw. you will not be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good choice for even a homeowner A huge blizzard late in the season broke an extraordinary number of tree limbs this spring. I own a Stihl 361 which is the best all round saw Stihl ever made, and it is my go to saw. It is very powerful and fairly light. With all the climbing I needed to do this spring I searched for a climbing saw. First, there are people that have saws that are not Stihl and actually think they have a chainsaw. I'm always being asked how to get their saw started, why won't it cut, why is the 361 so much faster cutting, etc. So, the choice between saws was what does Stihl make. I am thankful my arborist had me spend $350 more to buy the MS201 over the 190 or 211. This professional top handle saw is a delight and I now use it more than my 361. It will cut anything the bar will go through, it is light, will start while I'm in harness.. a perfect climbing saw.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok saw After one year the saw doesn't idle anymore. New air filter new spark plug and new fuel filter. The older model ms200t carb could be adjusted without bringing it to the dealer. This is the only problem I have with the saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cuts as good as a 200t Very nice running saw. I have been running it with a 16" bar. Throttle response on the newer m tronic model is much more snappy. Even though on paper it weighs the same as the standard carb version its lighter. With a 16 its lighter then the standard carb saw with 14". Both saws fully topped off. It may have to do with the diagnostic port cut out in the front off the case. I also had one of my 200ts out to compare weight and balance. Might even be lighter then the 200. I may have to break out same scales. This saw is a Grand Slam. Good job stihl. I have been waiting on a 200t replacement and its finally happened. Fyi it is the most fuel efficient Pro climbing saw stihl has ever offered.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome saw except for This saw is absolutely an awesome saw the only problem is the case design on the bar and chain oil tank side. The problem is that after a few months of putting it in and out of the bucket truck scabbard it ruins the gasket where the cases meet and starts leaking the bar and chain oil substantially. The way the cases are designed it hits the gasket every time it goes in the bucket scabbard. Hope stihl redesigns it. Also I prefer the older stihl 200 kill switch that wasn't spring loaded because sometimes it is very awkward to shut off the saw because of how far you have to push it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bring back the ms200 I have an amazing 7 year old ms200 and to this day is still running perfectly!I bought this new 201tcm as a backup saw and I have had nothing but problems with it since day 1. After the dealer finally admitted it was wasnt running as it should with all the hesitating and stalling they replaced the electronic controlled carb. It ran great for about 2 weeks and again started to repeat with hesitating and stalling. The ms 200 is the perfect climbing saw imo it would be nice if they could make these new saws as reliable as the old ones.
