Rated 5 out of 5 by from First-time user This was my first experience with a chainsaw; the people at the store had it on hand, put fuel and bar oil in it, went over all the safety procedures, gave me a full demo, and let me start it. I had much more confidence after their help. I cut the tree and had no problems. I would not only recommend the product but also the competent and helpful people at Jevins Ace Hardware in Varnell, GA. The price was also great. It saved me a lot of moneyon the product and on having to hire someone to cut it for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The "OLD FAITHFUL" of Chainsaw Bars I have run this bar in 24" & 28" lengths since 1981 on 041 AVES & 066 Magnum saws up until this year. NONE of the bars I ever ran failed due to lack of quality or workmanship! I wasn't the kindest sawyer either as I dished out a lot of abuse & they came back for more. I flipped 'em & dressed 'em until the groove was about gone. I've cut softwood & hardwood, clean wood & dirty wood, live wood & dead wood...including roots! The replaceable tips last as long as the solid tips do, as long as you take care of them. These bars have outlasted me.I'll turn 65 in a month so this senior has opted for the ROLLOMATIC ES Light on his new MS 661 R-CM & MS 362 C-M. It is my initial impression that the ES & ES Light are both TOUGH AS NAILS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I’m a believer I’ve run my 661CM hard with this bar (25 in). This bar can take a lot of punishment. Coupled with a STIHL chain, it makes the most of your powerhead. They aren’t cheap but very few quality products are. This is a great bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Durability and Dependable These bars appear to be tough!! I was looking for a tough 32” bar for the MS661 R C-M to fit between the 25” & 36” Rollomatic ES Light. The quality is outstanding and you can immediately see the difference between this and the laminated “green” bars. These somehow feel more solid and are machines from a solid bar (not tack welded together). Maybe it’s my interpretation but it looks like these can really take abuse and keep going. They are a bit heavy when stacked up against the ES Light but “WHAT A TANK!!” On the MS661 the 32” feels a bit nose heavy but not too bad. The price is a bit less than the ES Light bar and a bit more weight. If I were to use it all day I’d absolutely go with the ES Light, but for basic work, the price is right for the quality on the ES Rollomatic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ES Bars As a novice, read non-professional, I have an older 460 that came with a 25" ES bar. It's usually more than I need, but I'd like to have a bar with 20" of EFFECTIVE cutting. Unfortunately this puts me in a tough spot since a 20" ES bar may give 18.5" or so of actual cutting. I'd rather use a green bar to be safe, but it's a shame there are no options for a super bar between 20-25" (in green).PS - What happened to the days when I could look up bars & chains by Stihl PN on the site?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Bar I am very pleased with quality, durability and strength of the ES bars. I run mostly 24/25" (84 drive links) on my 046, 660 and 661. Use longer bars when needed. The 362's can pull the 25" too but usually run 20". The 362cm came with an E bar but dealer upgraded to ES. Over the years I tried an 'O' brand and For___ brand. They were less expensive but no bargains because much lesser quality. Lesson learned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent - Wish more sizes were available and longer bars were less expensive I've been running Stihl Rollomatic ES bars for years. They wear great and are extremely durable. I do, however, wish Stihl offered more sizes in the larger bars. I like running 3/8" chain on everything, and have had great luck running it on long bars. Stihl only offers 3/8" pitch Rollomatic bars up to 36", and doesn't even offer a 47" .404 bar anymore. Also, the pricing on the longer bars has gotten a bit ridiculous. Those issues aside, I will continue to run ES bars for all of my saws in the sizes that fit my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get the upgrade... Most of the saws a person will buy will have the Rollomatic E standard guide bar. This is the standard bar that comes on Stihl chainsaws (unless you buy a professional grade). Having said that, the ES allows the user to plunge cut often without worrying about the nose sprocket bearings going out. And if the bearings do go out, you can get a new nose assembly and not have to plunk down the dollars for a new bar. I would definitely recommend this product to the individual who wants a little durability in a bar. And even if you're not plunge cutting often, the novice user has the option-if they ever wear the tip out-to replace a smaller/more inexpensive part.
