Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well thought out and designed, the saw-battery-charger-and chain, excellant. A pleasure to work with, no ethanol problems, the saw is quiet, very well made almost no vibrations, and combined with the new 1/4" 43 gauge chain the saw cuts and bores very well, with most applications the battery lasts longer than a tank of gas. I also have the option of working indoors, and in a suburban setting the neighbors love the saw too. I also like the fact that the saw is much easier to maintain, no air or gas filters,no mixing oil and gas, no spark plug or smoke during idling, no carb adjustments, and no oily mess on the muffler and saw, all I need to do when im done is blow off the chips with my compressor, wipe off the sprocket area as usual and mount a new chain. I have two MSA 160 saws, I also use standard 1/4" RMS chain. For precision pruning, firewood, storm clean-up or Carving, it's outstanding, I love my saw!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely handy and reliable Excellent product for trimming and pruning. The 1/4" narrow chain cuts very fast and smooth. I was surprised with the amount of cuts, 4 to 6 inches that this product can handle in a single charge. I cut 3 to 4 hours with it on a new battery, (not yet fully charged) and still had half battery charge left when done. I use it with a AP300 battery and a AL300 charger, which I would recommend to anyone wishing to invest in this product. I do most of my work in town and on Sundays. I don't have to worry about waking up neighbors or interfering with church services because it is very quiet. This product is very well balanced and light in weight, which makes it handy when reaching up to make cuts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Workhorse Cordless Compact Chainsaw Excellent cordless compact chainsaw. Has worked great for hours of continuous use for land clearing. Two AP180 batteries provide more than enough continuous use before I am ready for a break. With the new AP300 batteries I suspect by time the second one is ready for a charge one will be exhausted while the MAS 160 can keep on going. The only thing to slow down the chain saw is the need for chain sharpening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does Amazing Job I purchased this saw as an early birthday present for myself! Picked up on Saturday, charged the battery and took it out to my wood pile on Sunday. Wow! This cuts through wood like a hot knife through butter. I was amazed. Did a whole rack of logs quickly and used less than half the charge. The smaller chain size make a smooth almost "finished" cut like a fine circular saw blade. I'm getting up there in years, so my Stihl Farm Boss which I got about ten years ago is getting a little heavy for the smaller everyday stuff. So when I got it serviced and the lady showed me the MSA 160 I wanted one! Did my research and everything came back to this little beauty. Very impressed. Got the 12" bar and I think this will do it all! Happy to recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very versatile for smaller jobs and excellent for in the tree trimming It took a 1 1/2 hours to fully charge the lithium ion battery and locked securely in-place when inserted into the tool. I filled the oil reservoir to the top with Stihl premium bar oil but before using the chainsaw, I prelubed the bar and chain to keep them protected before the self oiler would actually apply lubricant to the chain. I'm glad I did this because after doing about 5 minutes of cutting I noticed the chain was getting dry. I removed the bar and surmised that there was no oil coming out of the oil orifice. Leaving the bar and chain off I used very small wire and carburetor cleaner too begin poking and prodding the opening and finally got fluid to flow out of the oil reservoir. Without doing this I would have surely destroyed the bar, chain and sprocket on this Saw. The chain is very narrow and cuts wood like a hot knife through butter but make sure the wood is dirt free and don't even think of nicking a nail.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Maddening We bought this chainsaw because it was something that I should have been able to use easily, and I will mention here that we have three other battery-operated Stihl products that we are pleased with. However, the chain has slipped off twice just going through about 1-2 inch branches. I took it back to the dealer the first time and they put the chain back on. It's Sunday today so I will have to visit them tomorrow. The second time I tried to put the chain back on and was unable to get it to stay. I've only been able to use the saw for a total of 10 minutes and I have hours of work to do, so with the chain coming off it is costing me lots of time. Even if I could get it back on, stopping every 5 minutes to do so would be aggravating. We are not happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MS271 Have to admit, works like a charm, no issues, ran very well and as long as I kept oil, fuel and sharp chains, my Stihl Got the job done. It's my gem. Roman
