STIHL Modern Manufacturing Camp

STIHL Inc. is fostering the next generation of skilled manufacturing workers through an annual Manufacturing Technology Summer Camp.

Located at STIHL Inc. headquarters in Virginia Beach, VA, this four-day program provides high school students with hands-on experience in designing and building products. During previous camps, students learned how to operate machines, construct products (from STIHL parts), and determine the most efficient way to manufacture equipment. Each member of the winning team earns a scholarship of up to $1,000 from the Virginia Industry Foundation. Scholarships are funded by STIHL Inc., FESTO, ECPI University, and other camp supporters. Past judges include a panel of leaders from Tidewater Community College, Regent University, Hampton University, Old Dominion University, STIHL Inc., Virginia Beach City Police Department, and the Virginia Manufacturers’ Association.
