These certificates confirm that the products comply with applicable consumer product safety rules enforced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The purpose of California Senate Bill 1215 is to promote the safe recycling of battery-embedded products. In accordance with SB 1215, STIHL Inc. is providing a list of STIHL products that fall under the Covered Battery-Embedded Product category, as defined by CalRecycle. This bill covers products containing batteries that are not easily removable using commonly available household tools.

STIHL products not listed above are out of scope as they either have separable battery packs or easily removable batteries. CalRecycle is in the process of finalizing their rulemaking, including determining the size limitation for batteries in the program.
