Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disposable equipment Ever buy a razor? You can get a nice razor and buy blades for your razor every now and again. Some of those are very nice and can get pricey as you'll never buy another one. Some are cheap and you use them once or twice and toss them. This battery powered stuff is the most overpriced disposable razor ever made. Oh, If you use it and it rains the warranty will be voided. If you do buy one don't allow the dealer to give you the item from the display tree as it<like mine> will not come with the manual. This trimmer comes with no battery/charger. Should cost $100 at the most.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from highly recommend I have several acres in the country and the lawn is unusual & tricky. This trimmer is perfect, it is lightweight & easy to use, the battery lasts significantly longer than the product info says & the speed is tremendous (which helps a lot actually). This isn't an inexpensive product, but it was well worth the money (note that I had blown the motor on a cheaper mfg's trimmer recently). I have an enormous amount of experience w the gas trimmers & have put in an incredible amount of man hours and this is easily the best thing I've found. I could easily be a commercial for this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great brand, good power, easy to use, poor balance Let me start off by saying I purchase all of my landscaping equipment from (excluding mowers bc they don’t make mowers) Stihl. Love the brand, the customer service, literally everything about the company. Which is why I bought the FSA 90R no questions asked. However when I receive the product (two days ago) I was immediately disappointed. Stihl, you’ve been making these products for years why did you change the weight distribution of the machine? All of the weight is in the head of the trimmer. For those of you who use weedeaters all the time you understand the importance of the balance of the machine. I’ve been Landscaping for 18 years, this will be my FIRST Stihl product that I will have to sell (at a loss).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from much better performance than my gas powered (former) trimmer I have had the FSA 90 R now for two seasons and I am so glad I made the purchase. I used to have to fill my gas-powered trimmer twice to complete the job that I can now complete with a single battery (and still have power left over to put the battery in my blower) I don't have to worry about scalding my arm or smelling like gas either. I was skeptical at first about the power of a battery-powered trimmer, but this tool performs better than the gas-powered did, hands down. I wish Stihl would come out with a stand-alone battery-powered straight edger now. I don't want to buy the multi-tool. I use this for residential use only. If you can afford it, go with this model and you won't be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product With Limitations Pros Reliable - runs when you put charged battery inAdjustable throttle - at low speed, you can do grass lines, up against fences, etc ... with no string break and perfect trimming around delicate flower beds and trees. Excellent finesse. Low throttle dramatically extends battery life per useIt’s quiet It’s powerfulComes with thick string that doesn’t break easy on low throttle and trims beautifully ConsBattery life - don’t get me wrong. The battery life is decent for trimming a large city lawn - on low throttle - which is all you need. But if it’s more - brush etc... - this won’t work due to brush draining battery life Balance - it’s a bit unbalanced due to heavy motor in trimming end vs light weight battery end but you get used to that quickly Not as fun to use as gas machine. I love to hot rod a gas machine. Just feels good. Purchase again? I probably would due to three factors - it’s quiet, it’s works when you put battery in, and it has perfect power on low throttle for finesse work on all lawn chores.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Far better than I hoped. I had hoped to be able to trim along my 300 for chain link and 100 white picket at least once before charging. I have done that four times plus more and have yet to charge the battery once! It is plenty powerful enough and the string dispenser works better than and weed eater I have own; both gas and electric.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressed with the trimmer I was finally able to mow my entire yard between rainy days. I was able to do all of my trimming on one charge of the battery. I loved being able to walk around without having to use hearing protection. Now that I have invested in a battery and charger, I will be purchasing additional batteries powered tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Equal to the gas powered machines The FSA 90r is powerful enough to compare with gas powered trimmers while being lighter and easy to handle. It cuts grass at much less than max power so the battery lasts a long time. There is none of the extra work and mess of gasoline engines because it starts with just a sqeeze of the handle.
