Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hmmmmm....Pro vs Con. Pros: 1. The grip is nice, It's definitely more comfortable than some.2. So far, of the battery powered weed whackers I've used, this has the best speed/rpm, adjuster.3. Really good runtime with the ap300 battery, about 40 minutes if you use it at half power or a combination of full, and half power. 4. Nice solid build quality, it's going to last for quite some time.Cons: 1. It's really unbalanced, I mean really unbalanced. It would be more comfortable to hold the bottom of the trimmer and just beat the grass to death. ;) Because of the heavy motor at the head of the trimmer, it creates a very unbalanced feel. You literally feel like you are carrying the engine on the head of the trimmer. Which in turn, makes it difficult to edge too. I just wish they had distributed the weight much better. I wouldn't even mind if the motor or what have you was placed at the top with the battery. Or just a more even feel would be fine with me. 2. Tangle trouble, yes when cutting thick or dense grass it will tangle and stop the motor. Which is something that could have been sorted out if they had built the space between the head and the motor differently. The only way you can kind of keep it from tangling is by just cutting very slowly at full power. In summary, this is Stihl's best shot with their commercial weed wacker line. I really hope that they improve on what the FSA 90r is. I wish I could recommend it for comerical use, but it really just is not ready for extensive use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FANTASTIC - particularly if you don't like to have to start gas trimmers I always have a problem pulling the starters on gas engines. This starts all the time, easily. and if I have to stop for a few seconds to pull something out of the way or clip something it stops as soon as I release the trigger and starts as soon as I press it. couldn't be more convenient,. Once you learn how to fill it with cord (see the Utube video) it is a snap. It doesn't go a long time on one charge but I have a fast charger and I don't mind taking a break every 1 1/2 hours for 1/2 an hour. Good time for coffee.Thank you,.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Professional level tool This trimmer will tackle most any reasonable trimmer job. It's heavier than the cheap tools, and that is because of a better motor and battery. The weight is offset by a shoulder sling. Two issues: the most common one is the auto line advance does not work well, causing delays and re-adjusting line feed. At this price, I didn't expect to have this problem. The other issue is the battery got stuck. That should never happen. It seems the product design folks at Stihl need to fix this. I still think its a good tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome tool This is the sixth Stihl Power tool that I have purchased and I find it to be an amazing piece of equipment. I am not easily impressed, but the ease-of-use and power this trimmer has is nothing short of amazing. It is almost overkill for just trimming grass around the house, but if you have a lot of work or high grass and weeds to trim, then this is your tool. Not pictured is the shoulder strap which is very useful when cutting for long periods of time, and it also comes to safety glasses. If you're cutting anything higher than normal grass then you need to use a safety glasses, because this thing really tears up tall grasses when you grab full throttle. The electric motor has a tremendous amount of torque which is noticeable when the grass is tall, which can bog down some gas trimmers. In fact, this has so much power its hard to believe this is an electric trimmer. In the end I would definitely buy this again.Well done Stihl.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never again. Started to corrode after 4 months. Replaced multiple parts at the store I purchased from but continued to have problems. Now its a paperweight in the shed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It almost feels like you are cheating. Light, powerful and easy. If you like noise, smell of gas fumes, and soreness by repeatedly pulling the cord, this might not be the best option for you. You just unlock, press the trigger and go. Only drawback is the amount of time to drain the battery in heavy grass etc. For large properties with option for hours of weedwacking I would suggest 2 batteries and the faster recharger.
