Excellent quick easy way to keep your chain sharp.
i bought this 2 in 1 from my local stihl dealer, my chain was in rough shape. It took me about an hour to get my chain back to like new. My angles were off and depth gauge was way off due to a cheap sharpener kit. Now it takes less then 5 mins to quickly maintain the chain. This product saves a lot of time and will keep your chain like new. I am very happy i spent the money on it. I think if you own a chain saw.....this is for you.

    awsome product
This sharpener is a game changer. I have a professional bench mounted chain sharpener and this is now my goto for all my chain sharpening. I can sharpen my chain in half the time and do it in the woods rather than having to go back to the shop and all angels stay correct. It even takes the rakes to the proper size. I've told all the guys who's chains I sharpen about this. Pair this with a stump vice and you can easily sharpen chains anywhere. I use it every time I fill up with fuel just remember ... read more to flip your bar every couple times you sharpen.

    great tool
I am the owner of a tree service and an instructor for chainsaw safety and tree felling for different government agencies. This is the only filing system we use and I push this on friends in the trade. I sharpened a 24" full comp chain, both sides, 3 swipes per tooth in 3min 58sec and the saw ripped. Now I only have to carry one extra chain per saw because I can file to like new faster than changing the chain. Plus I don't have to take a dull chain back to the shop. AND even the absolute ... read more greenest worker can get a great edge.

Does what it was made to do
Not much to say other than it does what it's made to do. I like the hollow handle that allows you to drop a spare spark plug into.

    Complete filing kit!
This kit has everything needed to keep the chain sharp. Although a vise is helpful. Contents include a round file for one of the popular chain pitches ask your dealer for the correct size for your saw. Easy to use
I do not waste my money paying someone else to sharpen my chains. A sharp chain is a must when using a chainsaw. I have 4 chains I rotate for my ms250. I mostly file and sharpen them at home. I have two chains for the ms362 and one of them is a full skip chain. The full skip is really easy to file in the field at each gas fill up. The stump vice is a great addition to this file set for sharpening. Getting the right angle is easy with this tool. 1-4 strokes is all I need for a sharp chain. Ask ... read more the dealer to show you how they work. I have used a dremel and actually prefer the file set.

It Works Better Than Your Eyesight !
The Stihl File Guide, when used with the FF1 File Guide Holder, will produce a uniformly sharpened chain with the proper angles required. It takes all of the "guess work" out of correctly sharpening your chains. DVD: The picture is worth a thousand words! SUGGESTION: Stihl should produce an online tutorial for ALL products here on the Stihl.com or StihlUSA.com sites. This would eliminate having to provide a DVD with very basic products. Having access to a tutorial for major products sure ... read more would reduce a lot of confusion on the part of consumers and headaches for servicing dealers! Just post a link on the Instructions or Owners Manual.

    Best guide for Stihl Sawchain.
Solid build , no better way to hold a correct angle. With the Stihl File and guide keeps Stihl Saw Chains razor sharp. Save your chains by using this combo. Grinder sharpening at a shop heats the chains and burns the temper out of the cutters. And sharpening at a shop these days can be expensive .

The Best Quality file guide you can own.
The Stihl files are the best I've ever used. Faster cutting and they leave a razor sharp edge . For the guide solid build the thumb screw tensioning rocks . Beats spring clips hands down. Keeps a firm grip on the file.

Amazing quality and leaves no room for mistakes
I use the 1/4 model on my MS 180 and HT 56. The guide takes the guess work out of sharping and allows you to get your chain ‘sticky sharp.’ With 4 strokes, I have a fully sharped edge that cuts through numerous trees, limbs and branches. With this you extend the life of your blade 10 fold. I used to use an electric grinder sharper, but found that it takes too much off and shortens the life of the chain.

    Lightweight, Effective, Rock Solid!!
This is a good tool and a necessity over hand filing without a guide. It will set the depth of the file to keep you from filing too high or low in the gullet of the tooth. The tool itself is typical Stihl quality in that it’s tough and effective, BUT in this case there is a more efficient option in the 3 in 1 tool that takes down the rakers in one operation and tool. This tool will not dress the rakers down as the teeth are filed, not the worst thing but not super efficient either. Nevertheless, ... read more this tool is simple to use, effective, light weight enough for any kit and inexpensive as things go. It helps you visually line up the angles and if you do your part with keeping the file level as you push through he tooth, it will produce razor sharp teeth!!

Strong STIHL for Razor Sharp Teeth
I’m not sure what hey have done at STIHL to make the files but they seem to cut better than the ones ya pick up in the box store. They sharpen quicker and last a bit longer in my experience. I’m using the files on .375 RS & PM & PMM chains. They work great on all of them! A bonus is hey drop right into my 2 in 1 kit as well!! Worth the extra money!
