works much better than the base model BG 50
I originally bought the BG 50 and returned it and bought the BG 56. So glad I did. Unlike the BG 50, this one starts up every single time after only a couple pulls. Works great, no complaints after about a month of use. If you are considering the BG 50, I would recommend you save yourself a lot of headache down the road and splurge for the BG 56, you won't be disappointed.

    american made quality
this is my second Stihl blower, I replace an old import with the amarican made BG 56 I am very happy with it with one exception. the new BG56 does not have a throttle lock. I am very disappointed with this because my old Stihl blower had a throttle lock. I thought I was upgrading until I got home and started using my new machine and there was no throttle lock.

    Great performer
The BG 56 C-E delivers as advertised. Startup is a piece of cake and there is power aplenty for any home-based use. It is also quieter than I thought it would be, a plus. Only thing I could ding it for is the air intake makes it a pain to swap to your left hand because the suction is so powerful it tends to suck your pants in. A bottom intake might have been a better idea. Other than that though I'm usually done so fast it doesn't really matter.

    this blower has good power
I bought this in lieu of an Echo 500. My main reason was the weight, only being 12 pounds vs 22.doesn't have as much power, but for what I use it for it is perfect. Mainly I use it to dry off my cars when I wash them, and keep my property clean.it starts very easily,it will blow grass clippings and small piles of leaves easily. If you're looking to blow massive amounts of leaves this is not the blower for you. Overall I am very happy with this product.

    Great home owner blower
Is it a professional blower? No. Is it good for what it was designed for? Yes. It is light and efficient for home lawn maintenance. It is easy to move in and around bushes and trees. Much better than a hand held blower. Run time is 2 hours or more on one tank of gas, It moved a substantial amount of leafs with no back strain vibration numbness. Starts easily and never stalled. If you want a light easy to use back pack blower buy quality. Buy Stihl.

    Very Pleased
Starts easy, runs well, uses very little gas, Does the job as desired, I have a full acre of land, lots of Fir trees and broad leaf trees, maple, walnut, cherry. The Broad leafs blow very easily, the fir needles are a lot tougher. I should have purchase a bigger blower because of the fir needles. This one works but more air power in my case would work better. All in all very pleased !!

    Change owners manual
When I read the owners manual and attempted to start I flooded it. So back to the dealer I went. The tech told me don't listen to the owners manual, here's how to start it. Haven't had a problem since. DO NOT HOLD THROTTLE when trying to start it. It will flood and you must clean spark plug if you ever want it to start. After learning that I'm quite happy with its performance

    Excellent
Nice blower! Plenty of power. Starts right up and is very light. I like the variable speed trigger too. Not sure why all the poor reviews for starting. I guess there are a lot of folks who don't know how to use the choke. Follow the instructions and you won't have any issues. It starts up just like my old WeedEater blower I had for 10 years.

Hurricane Irma blows, just not as hard
Hurricane Irma just blew through and left a mess up and down my street. The neighbors all pitched in to clean off the debris and I used my Stihl blower to get the sticks and leaves off the roadway and every driveway on our block. It's a small thing but it was much appreciated by everyone and my blower remains a champ! Next up I'll be investing in the Stihl chainsaw!
