How long have you competed in lumberjack sports?
I have been competing for 8 years.

How did you get involved in lumberjack sports and when did you start competing?
My dad began competing in college and continued to do so after graduating. He later got my mom into it as well. My mom actually threw axe in a competition two days before I was born. I grew up with the sport. Watching my dad train in the backyard and going to shows with the family. I started competing the summer after my sophomore year of high school in 2012, and it stuck.

How do you train for STIHL TIMBERSPORTS®?
Every weekend I am somewhere training the events with coaching from other competitors. During the week I just keep moving when I can between classes, whether it be dancing, resistance training, or running— I try to do something physical every day.

What’s your best/strongest STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® discipline?
Single buck

What advice would you give to young female athletes interested in competing in the sport?
Go to shows, meet the competitors and ask questions. Train with other competitors and learn from them. Practice a lot, and then practice some more. If you’re serious about it, make it a priority and focus. Be committed!
