How did you get involved in lumberjack sports?
I first got introduced to the sport by attending the Adirondack Woodsmen School at Paul Smith’s College in 2011. I stayed at Paul Smith’s to compete all four years on their woodsmen team.

When did you begin participating/competing in lumberjack sports and the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Series?
I started competing outside of college in 2015 at local competitions. My senior year at Paul Smith’s, I won the STIHL Collegiate National Championship. The 2017 STIHL Series will be my first time competing professionally for the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series.

How do you train for the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series and other lumberjack competitions?
I like to train by racing against my friends in each of the disciplines. I also try to compete in as many local competitions as possible in preparation for the series.

Are you related to any current or former STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series competitors?
No

Best/strongest STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series discipline?
Underhand

Any advice for the collegiate competitors?
Never stop trying to get better. No matter how fast a chop is, there are always ways to make it faster. Never settle for good enough, but try to become the best.

What pro athlete/celebrity would you like to see try one of the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series disciplines?
