Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fs 130r has an outstanding power. After owning the Fs 80r,Fs 90r I upgraded to the Fs 130r.This trimmer has an excellent power specially in places were grass is very tall like in my farm. All of my lawn equipment is made by stihl and I have never had a problems with it. Keep up the good work Stihl. ..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most useful tool I've ever bought! Bought this trimmer to use as a weed eater, and also be able to clear areas of my property I can't get a mower or brush hog. Running string I was impressed at how thick of grass you can run it through without bogging down. With the brush knife on this thing is unstoppable. It cleanly cuts brush up to the size of my index finger. I've chopped a few things bigger than that, but not with much ease. However, I feel that is merely the limitations of the brush knife, a different blade could probably go bigger. I've seen some people complain of the weight, but for any reasonably fit person I don't think it would be a big deal. I'm a weekend warrior, and not in anyway accustomed to running a trimmer day in and day out, but after spending all day on it yesterday I don't feel sore or fatigued in any way. I've put about 20 hours on it since I got it, and so far I love this thing. Its easy to start, and is very versatile. The only thing I don't like is there is a little black cover in front of the trigger that gets in the way when adjusting the mount for the sling. The regular model doesn't have it, and I haven't figure out why the put it on the R. I'm tall and I can't get the sling far enough back to be effective, so I just don't use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The FS130 is worth the price. I had an FS 200 that I had serviced 3 times in 14 yrs. for carburetor overhaul. It was worn out completely and I used it for over a 1000 hours and miles of brush and weeds. I researched the products and decided to go with the FS130. I have only used it for a few months now but it more than has lived up to my expectations. STIHL products are the only outdoor products I'll ever use and they are the best in the industry and all I'll use on my Farm and Company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This machine is an animal and it has great power I have several of these. They just keep going. It will handle high grass/weeds no trouble. I use thicker string and a commercial head. Highly recommend this junk yard dog. If it doesn't cut it down get the chain saw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent trimmer. I have 17 acres and needed a trimmer with plenty of power and that would die on me in a year or two. I read and read and researched all the major brands and it came down to 2 trimmers (both were Stihl). In the end I decided on the FS 130R and I wasn't disappointed. I was a person that would go to a big box store and spend little to nothing on a trimmer wait for out to die and toss it out and buy another one, rinse and repeat. This time I decided to spend the money on something that would last and I'm glad I did. The 130 has power on top of power and a little to spare even then. I'm cutting brush over an inch thick and this thing treats it like out doesn't exist. Using string or a blade this machine is simply amazing. The only thing I could possibly complain about is FOR ME it's a little short. I'm 6'4" and if I trim for long periods of time it wears on my back a little. I only wish Stihl made an extended handle and I'd be in heaven using this trimmer. If your average height you don't have anything to worry about it's plenty long enough. I don't have any regrets buying the FS 130R and would buy another one in a heart beat.
