Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, but effective I use it weekly. I cut 400 ft. of fence line in 10 minutes. Lots of power! Only need to charge it after 3 uses without running out of power.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed The string head sucks even the pre loaded cartridges that stihl sells don't work.....Spend more time getting string to work than its worth. Will attempt to trade it in next time I'm at the Ace store where I bought it. Stick with the gas model at least the string attachment works!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from A disappointment! Will pay fair price for quality tools. I work them hard. When it works it is above average, but still not on par with AC driven trimmers. I have spent more wasted time with trimming head. Forget about hand winding line especially in the field. You need a shop to maintain the thing. High maintenance. Very disappointed in the trimming head and will look for a replace head and line buy another vendor. Will forgo purchasing a blower as I will be replacing this unit with something that is field reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performance is Worth the money I'm a woman about 60 and this trimmer performs! The string-feeding system works as described- cut 2 x 8ft lengths, feed into hole until resistance and the wind - the string is sucked into the head.I took a long time to decide because of the price. I'm so happy with this model and the "300" battery because of the weight, the string wind system and the battery life. I weed whacked tall grass as well as small young thistles just sprouting on a gravel-embedded dirt drive and took them down to nothing. The thump- feed string release works, and I learned to listen to when the whizzz dropped pitch, which means "more string needed." Another review said it plainly, It's a Stihl !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Compact Cordless Bushcutter Excellent cordless workhorse bushcutter. With one AP180 battery it almost completely clears the grass on one acre of trees, fence line, and bushes where the riding mower is unable to reach. The AP300 battery pushes through and then some. With the light weight, able to go "all day" without the need to put is down and rest.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly great Works full power right up til the battery dies. Well balanced. Tap cap for string feed/opening string housing wears out quickly making it inconsistent with feed and very difficult to open housing to restring. Have to replace cap 2-3 times a season.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love mine, just wish I'd got it cheaper. I had difficulty at first with putting new line in. So I took it back to the dealer to show me and he said it was the easiest weed eater in the world to put line in. You just cut about 2 and a half feet of line, put one end in the side hole, put the other end of the line in the other side hole, and just twist the cap until you can't twist it anymore. Now all you do is cut the line in the middle. If it's to long the twist the cap again. Once you cut the line, the cap will be easy to turn again. So I asked, do I ever need to take the cap off? And he said nope. It's the easiest thing to use and operate if you know how to do it the right way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from dependable and lightweight with excellent battery life We have owned and used gas-powered and electric Stihl trimmers for over ten years. My wife prefers the electric model, so we decided to try the battery-powered model. We both like its dependability and sufficient power for trimming. The battery-life is great and exceeds our expectations. Since the batteries are usable in all the battery-powered Stihl implements, we have purchased a small chainsaw. We cannot imagine how we managed to get along without the battery-powered implements. We recommend them without reservation.
