Rated 5 out of 5 by from The SR430 did the job! Purchase the SR430 from GEO in Kilmarnick, Va. They not only had the unit in stock but gave instructions on starting, using and maintenance of the sprayer. Practice with just water till I learned where adjustments needed to be as not to over spray. Unit will spray out a good 10-15 feet into the brush/ bushes and woods surrounding property plus leave a nice mist on top and underneath of leaves. No bugs after spraying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SR 430 comes standard with pump I have owned the SR 430 sprayer for a little over a year now. I purchased it strictly for mosquito control around my house and around my parents house. I chose the 430 over Stihl’s other two models (the 200 & 450) because of the included pressure pump. The 200 and 450 are both gravity feed to the spray nozzle. That is fine for horizontal spraying or spraying the ground, but not as efficient when spraying at an upward angle as you would with mosquito control. The 430, which comes standard with the pump, sprays a much more consistent volume of solution at upward angles and even when the nozzle is above the tank. I have used the 430 as a leaf blower and it works decently well for that task. It is stronger than most hand held leaf blowers I have used but not as powerful as the larger backpack blowers. Others have mentioned a vapor lock problem once the 430 is hot and is stopped for a few minutes. I have not witnessed this problem with my 430. I typically spray 4-6 tankfuls of solution on the days I treat for mosquitos. With taking 5-10 minutes between batches to refill and mix the solution, I have not experienced any difficulties in restarting the 430. I don’t use my 430 all day every day like a professional would so maybe that’s why I haven’t had the vapor lock problem. All in all the 430 has worked great for my needs. The only two minimal complaints about the 430 I have would be the tank is only marked in liters (I used a sharpie to make gallon marks) and installing the safety shield at the muffler. The dealer tried to install the shield but broke the plastic housing it snaps into. They ordered a new housing for me for free and I installed it when it arrived. Just take your time and don’t pry too hard on the housing. The shield will eventually snap into place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE MY STIHL BR430 Backpack Blower I have had many blowers over the past 21+ years of being a home owner, none as good and powerful s my new STIHL BR 430 backpack blower! Last month, after my yard being covered in snow, and the afternoon sun melting it away, my new BR 430 had no problem blowing the soggy matted down leaves. It was effortless and made me smile. Wish I had bought this years ago. I used to think STIHL was just for professionals. No home owner should buy anything less than a STIHL. Saves time and over the years much money!Best Regards;Joe BPittsford, NY

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a beauty Simply put: I love it! I now clean my sizable yard in 1/3 the time my handheld gas or electric ones did. It starts easily, comfortable on my back, and gives all the power necessary to get the job done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed the way I operate my farm business. I've been struggling to find a cost effective way to spray pumpkins after the patch gets thick and the 4-wheeler with an electric sprayer can't get through it. I've been using back pack and small hand pump sprayers. The time it takes me to spray has improved from about 1 linear foot per 5 seconds to better than 1 linear foot per second. It used to take a full 10+ hours of labor to spray an acre and now it takes about an hour and 45 minutes. It also does a much better job. It mists better and turns the leaves over to help fight downy mildew. I found it to be light weight and plenty powerful. I rarely use more than half throttle. Works good on my small vineyard of 600 vines too.Southwest Virginia Farmer

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This model has problems I have been using the SR 450 for over 7 years and had little problems with them. This year I bought the SR 430 because I do not need the duster feature. The first problem is the when you get low on liquid in the tank it starts blowing air with the liquid and foaming up the feed line and pulsating the feed. The second problem is the fuel line will vapor lock when hot. This happens about 7 to 8 minutes after you cut it off after spraying in hot weather. If you refill ant start the blower quickly your fine if not it has taken over 30 minutes to get it to crank. This problem has cost me more than the $100.00 dollars I saved not getting the SR 450.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! This sprayer is amazing! This is the best one out there. I have years of experience with the 200 and the 450. The 450 has a major flaw (If you want my un-solicited opinion). The 450 has a tank that you can remove and switch around 180 degrees if you wanna switch between a granular or liquid pesticide. The problem is that if you use it commercially and leave liquid in it while traveling, the lateral motion of the liquid sloshing around will eventually wear out the gaskets that seal the tank. I don't care what you do after that happens you will never get a good seal again, you might as well throw away the whole thing. So if you have the 450 make sure you use all the liquid after every use.Anyway I purchased this (430) blower because the tank is permanently mounted to the backpack. So far I love it and haven't seen any flaws. It is just a larger more powerful version of the bulletproof 200.Oh, and another point is always use premium gas in any Stihl. They get really tempermental otherwise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You won’t be sorry! I started with an sr200 about three years ago and was super pleased with it then it needed some minor service and I was told it would be 4 weeks before I would get it back due to a long line of customers ahead of me. So while I was at the shop I decided to by the sr430 to use in the interim. I was impressed with how much stronger it was. Sure it was heavier, but somehow felt more comfortable. I have a pest control business and use this thing constantly with only one issue. The issue is that when I use it for a long period of time(25min) it has been difficult to get started again on a hot day after sitting for 15min or so on the ride to the next house. Not sure if it’s just a little over heated or what. Haven’t heard a good reason why yet, but if I let it sit for 30 min it will start right back up. I use 93octain, non ethanol gas, and stihl synthetic oil. I still love it and wouldn’t consider another brand.
