Rated 1 out of 5 by from RMA 370 I purchased the RMA 370 2 years ago and just put it in the dumpster today.I originally purchased it from my local Stihl dealer. As a mower I did enjoy the fact I didn't need to keep gas on hand. I also enjoyed the quiet operation and the lack of smelly fumes. The greatest advantage for me though was it's light weight made it excellent for mowing the steep side hills of my ditches. It was so easy and looked a lot better then trying to do it with a trimmer. The battery life was excellent and always surprised me how much I could do before needing to recharge. The downside to this mower is that if you want to use the catcher it fills very fast to the point where it seems you hardly get going and need to dump again. If you choose to take the catcher off it tends to "clump" the grass in clumps under the mower and bog itself down quickly. Also in wet areas of my lawn where the grass grows heavier it tends to lack the torque I am used to in a gas mower. So at times if I let my grass grow too long I knew I would not be able to use my Stihl mowers in some areas because it would not have the power. I would then revert back to my gas mower for those times. The biggest negative on this mower for me however was it's lack of dependability. Arriving towards the end of it's second season of use this fall I noticed a "slipping sound". It sounded as if the mower had a belt that was slipping. Whenever the mower came into any resistance this noise would occur and you could tell the blade was slowing down. IF you tilted down on the handle to lift the blade off the ground the rpm would resume to full speed again. I took it to the local dealer and they informed me it needed serious repairs for some parts in the motor that had gone bad. The cost to repair it was for more then I could justify putting into a used mower and still only having a used mower when it is all said and done. So I saved the repair money and bought a gas mower for less then the repair cost!I just can't justify the original cost for such a short product life to purchase another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mower I liked mower so much I went back and bought trimmer and blower. It's so nice not having to deal with oil/gas mixture getting all over the place. The mower is about as loud as a vacuum cleaner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard to believe First season using the mower. I have about 4200 sq ft of thick grass to mow and using the mulching blade and adapter. Hard to believe something so light and simple to use can get the job done so well. Have to carry down a flight of steps to get to back yard but easy to do. Had to buy another mulching kit to get a spare mulching blade Using Ap180 battery but will buy AP300 soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best mower for city lawns We've used only electric mowers since our first xxx electric mower in 2000. This Stihl mower feels about half as heavy and if you love edges like the edge between wild and tame it's super easy to maneuver around and under the edges of shrubs like salal, huckleberry, etc. It does cut a narrower path than larger mowers. The only con that I can find is not the cost - the Stihl products in general are well worth their prices and being able to do away with gas cans, filling mowers, stinky exhaust, and noise is priceless - but for us in a rural area the only con is that the highest setting is too low for grassy areas that we want to leave taller to conserve moisture. Spring is the only season we need to mow and we like to leave the grasses a little bit taller in preparation for the drought. So - perfect for the city lawn where grass height is not a concern.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small and underpowered Got the 370 with the 180 battery, which was the big one at the time. At the beginning of the summer I could mow my lawn with 2 battery uses as it lasted about 30min each. At the end of the summer it lasted about 15min, even with short grass, so I needed 4-5 battery uses. Since I only had one battery that was a serious pita even with the rapid charger. The mower is very small and under powered. Because of the lack of power you must overlap each pass quite a bit, and go slow. If the grass is long, you have to mow it twice in many spots. (Even with a very sharp blade) I have maybe 6000 sqft of grass and this mower takes forever to mow it. Also it's just not powerful enough to mulch. On the plus side, it's very light and the bag works well, but fills very quickly. Oh, and if you bounce it, the height adjustment pops out and the mower drops to the lowest setting which cuts a hole in your lawn before you realize what happened. I'm giving it away this summer to a friend with a super small lawn he cuts with a manual push spin blade mower.Pro: light, reliable, quietCon: expensive, under powered, very small deck, small bag, height adjustment pops out to low setting easily, battery drains rapidly and looses max charge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best in class by miles! I've relied upon Stihl chainsaws fire fighting for the past 15 years - Hotshots and Helitack. The quality is awesome, and the support from the Stihl dealer network is outstanding. Small gas engines have their place, but at home I want clean, safe, efficient electric tools. I tried several other cordless mowers and they all had problems eventually. Then I discovered the RM 370, and had to have it. It's absolutely better in every way than anything else. If there's a downside, it's the cost, but after you using it, I decided right away it was worth every penny.
