Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice hatchet Owning dozens of hatchets and small axes I'm very impressed with the cutting ability and handle feel of this hatchet. The handle is very comfortable with the fawns foot swell on both planes giving security in your swing. The blade is of great quality and is Mfg. by one of the best axe makers in the world (Ochsenskoph). For a light hatchet/camp axe I highly recommend this one. Very good value also !

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good hatchet but no sheath I haven't used it yet but without a sheath it probably won't be on my take to the woods list. I don't have a clue where to buy one for it either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best hatchet I've ever used We went on a camping trip and I decided to purchase this hatchet for splitting fire wood and other common camp tasks, and does it deliver. The paint job does come a bit thick so you can see where the paint was running, but pretty isn't why I bought it. I know eventually there won't be much paint left anyway. It is a nice and heavy head. I would prefer a hickory handle but at this price you can't beat it. The hatchet would split logs easily. It took one swing mostly, with the occasional two or three swings depending on my accuracy. I have had to touch up the blade, but that is a common chore with any sharp tool. The head has yet to come loose. It doesn't even wiggle. It is small enough to pack in my hiking pack but hefty enough to function properly. I will not hesitate to use it on the job either. I am very impressed. I'm surprised I didn't purchase one sooner. #teamstihl

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality When I received this Hatchet, the paint on the back of the head was oversprayed leaving a paint run that was half chipped off, and there were nicks in the handle. After only one use of trying it out on a 2 inch standing ash tree the head became a little loose and the edge not only won't hold its sharpness, it has nicks in it. The steel is not tempered as it should be. I have and use the Stihl Pro Universal Forestry Axe and I can tell you this hatcet is nothing like the Axe which I cannot say enough good things about. I just wish this Hatchet was made of the same quality as the Pro Axe. I am very dissapointed that Stihl would sell something of this poor quality. This Definitely does not derserve to carry the Stihl name on the side of it.
