Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as good as my old PS 10 I am a big fan of Stihl products and own and have recommended a number of their tools. For years, I owned the PS 10 folding saw and loved it. Very durable, easy to use, my carry with me anytime I was working in the yard to address all my trimming needs -- far better than lugging a lopper around. Unfortunately, I lost my PS 10 and replaced it with the PS 30 which broke on its second trimming use on a dead cedar limb about an inch in diameter. The top inch or so of the blade just snapped off. Needless to say, I am very disappointed at its performance/quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pruning saw, but brittle blade I will now be on my third PS 30 Folding Saw in the last 3 years. This saw is in my pocket whenever I am working in my forest. I love the sharpness of the blade and the ease and quickness that it saws through limbs as large as 4 inches or more. However, despite trying to be cautious in how the blade is pulled through the limb, inevitably the blade can seize up in the cut and then there is a high probability that the blade will break. It is better to purchase a new PS 30 than to try to find a replacement blade. My broken saws are still usable to some degree, but if I want the full benefit of the curvature of the blade, I will be using a new PS 30 Folding Saw.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Blade broke second time I used it and cannot find anyone that sells a replacement blade I used this blade and The second time out the blade broke while cutting branches. Poor quality blade. It was sharp but metal quality must be poor quality. Very disappointed and now I can’t find anyone that sells a replacement blade. I will buy a different saw next time... love my Stihl chainsaws but the hand saw is poor quality.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cuts very well, does not hold up to much use I love how sharp this blade is and the size is perfect for fitting into a pocket however the blade is weak in the sense that it breaks easily. I've gone through 4 of these saws in the last 6 months. I

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good design, suboptimal blade A handy saw I used for landscape pruning & while wildland firefighting. The folding design and size are ideal for pant or pack pocket storage, the handle is comfortable, and the locking mechanism works well, but I was disappointed with the blade quality. The blade is thinner and of lower quality steel than other Stihl and competitors' saws. Although the blade cut well, it bent easily then broke near the handle. The cost of a replacement blade was certainly more than I expected.Overall, it's a good saw that could be an excellent saw if it had a better blade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mighty mite! I bought this to carry in my backpack or pants pocket while working on mountain bike trails. Does a great job on anything 1-3" when a chainsaw isn't handy. This saw has saved me several trips back to the parking lot to get my chainsaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost as good as their chain saws I bought this saw about 2 years ago for pruning limbs of Crape Myrtles and other shrubs and trees. It has a good heavy solid feel to it that fits the hand nicely. It folds closed like a pocket knife to make it compact and to protect you and the blade. Like most other pruning saws, the curved blade and a pull cutting stroke make this a very fast cutting saw. I keep it in my truck all the time just in case, you never know when you will need it. Stihl also sells the file to sharpen these saws but it does take some patience and skill to get right so just buy a new blade or new saw when this one dulls and practice on the old one, then test it against the new one. All in all you can't go wrong with this saw.
