Rated 5 out of 5 by from This saw will last until it’s stolen! We run our 420s on a daily basis cutting concrete. By far all employees and myself prefer this saw over its competitors. We own both and the Stihl wins every time. It’s very light weight and is good on fuel. My only advice is to have spare bolts for the muffler. It seems to vibrate loose on every saw we own. Other than that just feed it fuel and run it for years. Thanks Stihl for a fantastic product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down , the best! We’ve been using and abusing the 400 s , 410s and 420s for 20 years now , cutting all types of materials but mostly masonry and concrete; when you do that on a daily basis with no maintenance at all ( we run them until they die and then replace them) and get a 2-3 years out a unit , you cannot rate this machines lower then 5 stars, top notch pieces of equipment. We won’t buy anything else , period.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Saw! I love this saw. Cuts great and does the job. Sorta on the heavy side but you're cutting solid rock it shouldn't feel like a feather. Get it, you won't regret it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great saw I’m a fan I’ve worked for a big masonry company for a couple years and as an apprentice it was my job to make cuts for the bricklayers. This saw was by far my favorite, it out worked a huskyvarna. Has a better water hook up when your cutting masonry units. And can go a while with little to no maintenance. We abused the snot out of thease saws on big jobs and they just kept going and going. I’d usaly get a month or so out them. Before they broke due to sand getting in the gas tank. Great saw. I liked it so much I bought one for my self

Rated 2 out of 5 by from ts420 vs ts400 I'm a brick mason been using these saws for over 25 years the ts400 is far bettert than the 420 and 410. The key 2 your saws longevity is trufuel which is pre-mixed no ethanol and proper filter maintenance. I cannot stress the importance of changing your filters regularly and using good fuel

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall great saw. This things are expensive. I had a really old one that was having compression problems and would always cause the pull rope to break at the worst times. So I finally gave in and bought a new TS420. Like I said, they're very pricey. So far the saw runs great. Fires right up within three pulls when cold, and always on the first pull once it's warmed up. Only thing I don't like is it feel bogged down when the blade is fully plunged in concrete, which is why I'm giving it four stars for the power category. I do a lot of Versa Lok retaining walls, which are 6" tall blocks. I wish the blade on this thing could cut 6" deep, but it doesn't. You have to make one cut, then flip the block over and finish it off, which really eats up a lot of time when you're cutting a lot of block while building a wall. Definitely something I wish Stihl would consider changing in their design.
