Rated 1 out of 5 by from Be careful what you cut with this chain. This is a very sharp chain until you hit something with it. I hit a nail in a tree and half the carbide inserts came off. If this would have been a regular chain, I could have sharpened it and kept going, but without the carbide inserts, the chain is ruined.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best for Gambel Oak This is the best chain I have found to use on Gambel Oak for its dirty bark and hard wood interior. This chain has lasted long enough for me to clear a five acre lot full of oak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Carbide is the way to go I watched a guy use a carbide chain a few years ago and I was impressed. I picked up my new Stihl saw last year, and I had to get the carbide chain. I am still impressed. I have cut down several large hardwood trees and even a dirty tree stump. The chain is still razor sharp. Yes, the chain costs more, but there is MUCH less service time. That is, after all, one of the main driving factors in buying a Stihl saw in the first place, right? I'm the kind of guy that just needs a tool that works whenever I need it, 100% of the time, not waiting to be sharpened, or in the shop getting repaired. If you're like me in that aspect, the Stihl saw and the carbide chain are the perfect combination.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive....BUT well worth the money! I have at a minimum,150-175 saw chains for my 27 STIHL chainsaws! I usually buy 4-5 new chains with each saw I purchase. Recently, my Dealer talked me into trying these carbide chains on my new saws. I made the right decision and now have all my new saws outfitted with carbides! I like to cut wood and the downtime you have with sharpening every couple of tankfuls takes away from my time with the saw. After the shock wears off over the price, you won't be disappointed!
