Rated 5 out of 5 by from Runs smooth and easy to control It is easy to handle and smooth running. Starting required me to set it down to steady it before the pull but it responded immediately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the price I love this saw. I will only use it a few times a year but as long as you take care of it and winterize it properly it should last my lifetime for my use level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a great all around saw! Bought my MS-250 a few weeks ago and have used it several times. At this point I love this saw and would recommend it to anyone who uses a saw for personal and farm clean up. Plenty of power, light to handle and yes! it starts easy.....providing you follow the start procedure in the manual! If cold full choke no mor then 3 pulls, less if it pops. After it pops or max 3 pulls, Switch to half choke and mine will then start in 1 or 2 pulls. When hot mine starts right up generally in 1 pull. This procedure work like clock work. Easy to adjust chain and add fuel & oil. Great saw and got it at a great price. Thanks to Mark at Heights Lumber in Harker Heights, TX for helping me with picking out the MS250!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I expected Purchased this saw for light home use and light wood cutting. Found this saw difficult to start. First time I tried to start it flooded and would not fire for me even with throttle fully engaged. Not what I expected from a brand new saw. On the plus side, it did cut well and had plenty of power for the small trees I was bucking up. They were only about 6 in diameter so not really a good test of saws ability. Wishing I would have bought a larger saw as have found I cannot upgrade the bar length like I was told at dealer. 18 in is ok but really wanted to upgrade to 20 in bar and chain. Overall a decent value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Chainsaw I have owned Have bought another brand in past(no STIHL dealers in the area)but they did not last. A local hardware store started carrying STIHL, I grew up with my father using STIHL and we sold wood and he used it 5 days a week. So that is why I bought one. I have 3 acres of woods that I am clearing and so far I am very pleased with the way the saw is performing. Just wish I had bought a STIHL earlier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value I had an old Stihl saw that finally died after many years of service and bought this saw as its replacement. I have used it multiple times already and it is everything the old saw was and more. I was lucky to catch it on sale which is even better. I own 3 other Stihl products and will continue to by Stihl, you get what you pay for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good Only ran one tank of fuel through it but was impressed. I bought the Stihl fuel-a little pricey but doubles the warranty. Started with 3 pulls. Sawed through red and white oak with ease. 18 inch bar is all it wants but I traded a little hp for weight. I had used the Farm Boss 29 for 26 years without any repair. Got the little brother MS 170 a few years back. Great "little" saw. Just wanted a lighter saw with similar power to the Farm Boss. We will see how it holds up but love it out of the box.
