Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the size I needed a saw for the weekend and needed my old 271 and 391 serviced. I was amazed by the power of such a lightweight. Admittedly I’m over 65 and not as spry as I used to be, but this would have been a great addition for one of my larger saws years ago. Great work from a solid company. Thanks guys !!!! It will get a good workout. Thanks again

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product for the price First new saw I bought, always a fan of Stihl. Cuts awesome, great power for the size. I just use it for personal home firewood cutting. Sometimes the initial stat takes a few pulls but it pulls over easy. Highly recommend for a starter saw for the price!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from great features, but poor product life expectancy I'm a homeowner who bought my 211c because of good past experience with my Dads 1971 model Farm Boss. I wanted a saw that wasn't as heavy, but had the cutting power to take down 4 diseased and one lightening damaged red , and white, oak trees on my property. I went to my local Stihl dealer, explained what I needed to accomplish, and what I was looking for in a saw. I told him my budget, and he recommended the MS211c. Being in my early 60s, I really liked the easy pull feature, and the chain adjusting feature. He assured me that it was capable of doing the job. Bought it with the 6 pack in the spring of 2015. Started using it to cut up a diseased oak that I had felled with a rented Stihl earlier. The 211 started and ran fine for the first couple of days. The third day it wouldn't start. I took it back to the dealer and his certified mechanic put a new carb on it under warranty. Used it the rest of that season, and for the 2016 season with no problems. Late November 2017, I'm 2/3rds through with cross cutting the fifth and final tree ( all were cut into firewood for my fireplace), when the saw quit cold and I was unable to start it. My investigation showed no fire in the spark plug. I replaced the plug, still no fire. Ran the recommended tests and determined the coil to be bad. Replaced it with a genuine Stihl coil, got it running again, but it was very hard to get it to start, and the easy start feature quit working Made 5 more cross cuts with it, turned it off to move some limbs, and it has never started again. Took it to my dealers shop. It had fire, but the mechanic said he couldn't get it started either, and that the compression check was only 40 lbs. He declared the motor to be bad, essentially worn out. Looking at hours run, and total wood cut ( maybe 5 cords at best) and the fact that the saw has only run on pure gas and Stihl oil ( only 3 bottles of which have been used, ) the math doesn't work out for the total life and hours of this saw for it to be worn out already. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very powerful saw. Super easy start. Starts like a dream. Very powerful. Get some chaps. It's a bit heavy, but the weight of the saw takes all the effort out of cutting through bigger wood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect fit Starts easily, Good balance, A real wood eater. Excellent quality fir the price, compared to others I have had, this out performs the others. Much quieter than the others as well. Best chain saw I have owned. Should have bought Stihl first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, light saw! I’ve been cutting firewood most of my life, was a logger for a summer and have always run a Stihl. I’ve spent most of those years cutting with an ms310 and an 084. The Ms211cbe was my first brand new saw purchase and I chose it for the price point/features size & power to weight ratio. This saw has been a pleasure to cut with and perfect for firewood chores. After running larger saws for years, I was not disappointed in choosing a smaller, lighter saw. Mine came with an 18” bar and I have no complaints whatsoever and would purchase again and recommend to anyone needing a saw exclusively for firewood. The no tools chain adjust and easy start feature make this saw a dream to start and run. 110% satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meets all my expectations. This my 1st day of good use, mind you, but this saw "almost cranks itself. Light weight, cut through a 6" log as it were butter. All the people were correct when they told me this was the best buy for the $$$. The cranking design is genius. Honestly, all I had to do was pull the cord a quarter of the way out and the compression spring did the rest of the work. It's light weight. Very good investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependble, user friendly I bought the 18" MS 211 to replace an aging MS 230, 16" unit. I liked the 230 and was used to the easy access gas, oil, easy start, and especially chain tensioner feature of the 230, which the 211 has. One improvement to the 211 is the easier tab to switch the summer/winter carb heat deflector using a finger switch. On the older 230, it was a few more steps to do this seasonal requirement. So far for routine homeowner duties like small dead trees, fallen limbs, limbing, high wind cleanup, it is a great choice based on modest weight and reliability.
