Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good saw to have in the armamentarium for carving Nice quality, easy to use. Lightweight and nice handling. A bit underpowered, and a little pricey, but works great for small/fine cuts that I use it for. I would want something bigger if I had only 1 saw, but a good saw to have in the armamentarium for carving.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful little saw Starts good, runs tough, my only complaint is when you let off the trigger, it dies. Then you have to restart it. It should drop to idle like my other stihl saws do. Gets to be an issue after you have started it 60-70 times

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light weight chainsaw, Starts flawlessly. would buy another. I love this ultra light weight chainsaw. Runs and starts flawlessly. I have cut down trees up to 10 inches with this chainsaw, Great for pruning or limbing up trees, Once you learn its operating range you will love this little chainsaw. Recently used this saw to help in cleaning up storm damaged trees at my neighbors. This saw out performed every other chainsaw that day. It starts so consistently on the first pull that the guys quit counting at 30 one pull starts without a stall. Can't say enough good things. It is small and if you need a bigger saw then buy one. A 12inch saw can cut down a lot of trees and do a lot of clean up with out having to carry much weight. It is easy to clean and maintain. I do use stihl premix fuel and chain oil.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Go-to saw for 80% of cuts When clearing trees, this saw gets used most of the time. At 7 pounds, it saves a lot of wear and tear on the back and I can get more done without getting tired. You can cut up to 10 inch logs, but the saw will bog down on the thicker stuff. It’s strength is pruning and trimming. It is work horse and is not a gas guzzler. Can cut for about 45 mins before you need to full up.It is my #1 saw and goes everywhere with me in the truck. Wish I would have bought it sooner.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless for hurricane cleanup. Can't start it. We purchased our saw to clean up trees felled by Hurricane Florence. No one can start it it. It simply will not work. And we bought it from Taylor's Do It Center where you can't get your money back. After paying a lot for it you'd think it would at least start. But the same is true for a Stihl weed eater a cousin of mine owns. He can start it after MUCH effort, but I have never succeeded in getting it started. Stihl seems to be prouder of its products than it deserves to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice saw I use it for trimming tree branches and cleaning saplings and brush out of fence lines. A little pricey but after using it is well worth the price.
