Rated 4 out of 5 by from The BG-50 Needs help In the past I have purchsed BG-55's. They had great power. Now that I have a BG-50, It severely lacks power. Could we please reintroduce the BG-55.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome blower for the price Starts easily and does not stall out! I only have about 1/3 acre so I went with the lower priced model. I use it to blow leaves and grass clippings out of flower beds, driveway, sidewalks and patios. Has plenty of power to accomplish these tasks. Highly recommend for the average homeowner. Very affordable price as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product - Gret Value! Light weight and very powerful. Typical Stihl quality at a great price. Much supperior to "bi Box Store" junk for about the same money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good overall, but could be better As a homeowner, I have had three BG 55 blowers. The first one was stolen and the last two locked up - each lasted about 5 years. I did not tear them down, but I do believe the crank bearings were shot - both were run exclusively with Stihl oil or ECHO Red Armor. That is not a complaint - both lasted over the "double your warranty" period, and I feel like I got my money's worth. I just replaced my third BG 55 with a BG 50. The dealer indicated it was the replacement equivalent. I must say I am a bit disappointed for a couple of reasons. 1) No trigger lock - I used mine just about every time I used my BG 55. 2) After about 15 years, the engine is the same and the blowing power has remained about the same. Not that the blowing power is bad (412cfm and 159mph is excellent for a blower this size and weight), just that after all this time Stihl hasn't done anything to make it more impressive. The BG 50 just seems notably cheaper than the BG 55. FWIW, my wife and 13-year-old indicated they like the weight and colors and don't really notice a little less power, nor do they miss the trigger lock. My wife also liked that it was $10 less than my last BG 55. That said, I doubt my wife nor 13-year-old would by a blower for the same reasons I would.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor performance I have had all Stihl products for 15 yrs. My old blower (12 yrs old) went down so I bought this one. Takes 4 - 7 pulls to start, has very little power and I sure wish I hadn't bought it. Stihl has been a good brand for me but this feels like a very cheap model. BG 50
