Rated 1 out of 5 by was a loyal stihl saw guy but cant recommend them anymore Was given a ms 362 for my birthday , have very few hours on the saw( 40 or less)under 1 year old, was told that the electronic ignition module was bad & might need to replace the carb already. went for warranty work and was told the saws only have a 3 month warranty I was dissapointed that I have to send another $$$ to fix this 10 month old saw.Matt K. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Saw Love my MS 362. Always starts easy and runs great. Cut over 10 cords of firewood in a season without a hiccup. It's the smallest of my Stihl saws so it really gets used a lot. Very reliable. August 5, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great running capabilities below 7,000 feet elevation. This Stihl chainsaw has been great to work with as long as we have kept it below 7,000-7,500 feet elevation. When we get it to higher elevations, the first tank usually runs great, but after refueling and getting back to work, it usually takes a while to get it started back up again compared to other models and is continuously dying. Without being able to adjust the Carb on the 362 C like you can on the 461, It takes time away from our job messing with it. Other than that, it is a great saw. July 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great performance, like the Quickstop. In 2002 I replaced an ancient 031 with no chain brake with a new 390. That saw ran through 150+ cords of locust, hickory, elm and whatever else was being thinned over a 13 year period. Just before that a friend bought an 036 that cost more than my 390. Looking back, the extra money would have been about $12 a year for a better balanced, lighter saw with a little more power. The 390 still runs, I just wanted to try the 362 C-MQ for the extra chain brake feature and the extra HP.The argument against the C-MQ I heard was the extra money vs the non C-MQ. Over the life of the saw that will work out to be less than $.50 per cord. I bought this for the same reason I went to a saw with a chain brake in 2002 and for the same reason I wear stihl chaps when I am cutting. Safety is cheaper than injuries. It broke in after about 5 tanks and continues to get better. I like the balance with a 20" bar and contrary to other reviews it has plenty of power with the bar buried, tried it on a nasty old 40" hedgerow tree and it did fine. After a day in the woods I like to use the stihl clamp on filing jig to true up the chain and it makes a big difference when cutting hardwood and big diameter trees. Hand filing is great in the field, just helps the saw to cut easier if the teeth are trued up . October 25, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great saw very surprising I use saws every day for work and cutting fire wood on weekends. I gave the MS362c a run and to say I was impressed would be an under statement.I used it next to my mate using an 18 month old 46 magnum in a large dead box barrel same bar and chain size and the 362 out preformed the 46 magnum. Both saws had the full 20" bar loaded up and the 362 was cutting much better and faster. This saw will not disappoint. I would not put larger than a 20" bar on this saw if a larger bar 25"+ up grade to a 66 magnum.I'd recommend this saw for both professional cutters and rural cutters alike. July 3, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent saw...depending on the job I am 60 and hopefully still making firewood etc for another 10 or more years (Northwestern Red Fir/Tamarack).My primary saw is an aging (like me) 044 with a 25 inch bar and my backup saw was shot so looking at the coming years I opted for this 2 pound lighter saw and the easy start compression release on all these new models. It came stock with a 25 inch bar.It does not have the power or the speed of the larger 044 but does OK on logs under 20 inch diameter.I was careful to follow the 5 tank break-in process and bought the high-dollar Stihl oil to get the warranty extension. Midway through the break-in process I had a problem with restarting the saw if it was hot but soon discovered it was a fouled spark plug.I would avoid using longer bars ..and if your work is smaller you might consider a shorter bar to improve power to get out when a kerf starts to pinch.
