Marty Grunder
Professional landscaper, entrepreneur, and business coach Marty Grunder brings his 40+ years of both field and business experience to the STIHL team.
Marty Grunder is the President and CEO of Grunder Landscaping Co. and host of the Grow Show podcast powered by STIHL in Dayton, Ohio. He founded the company in 1984 to fund his education at the University of Dayton. Over the past 40 years, Grunder Landscaping Co. has flourished under Marty's leadership, becoming the leading landscaping company in the area and earning over 50 local and national design awards, including being recognized twice with the Better Business Bureau's Eclipse Integrity Award.
In addition to his role at Grunder Landscaping Co., Marty is also the President and CEO of The Grow Group, his own business consulting company. Through The Grow Group, Marty shares his expertise with landscape professionals from across the country, teaching them effective business practices that have contributed to his own success. The author of The 9 Super Simple Steps to Entrepreneurial Success, he has coached numerous landscaping professionals and companies, delivering over 550 motivational talks to audiences ranging from small gatherings to large stadiums of 9,000 people. Marty's entrepreneurial skills have garnered him several accolades, including being named the Ohio Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the Midwest by the Small Business Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce. He was also honored as the Dayton/Miami Valley Entrepreneur of the Year in 2001 by Ernst & Young and was inducted into the Dayton Business Hall of Fame in 2021.
As a lifelong Daytonian, Marty enjoys rooting for local sports teams such as the Reds, Bengals, and Dayton Flyers. When he's not working, he cherishes spending time with his wife, Lisa, their four children, and their beloved dog, Nelly. Marty is a proud graduate of the University of Dayton School of Business and is actively involved in various organizations, serving on the boards of the NALP Foundation, Park National Bank of Southwest Ohio, Wright State University, and the Dayton Development Coalition. He also contributes as a columnist for Landscape Management. Marty's commitment to the landscaping industry and his passion for helping others achieve entrepreneurial success continue to make a lasting impact.
