How did you get involved in lumberjack sports?
I started at Fingerlakes Community College with Marty Dodge and then played at SUNY ESF in Syracuse.
When did you begin participating/competing in lumberjack sports and the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Series?
I started in 2001 competing in college competitions and then in 2004 I competed in the first STIHL Collegiate series and won it in 2005.
How long have you been competing in the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series? Other lumberjack competitions?
I have been competing for about 10 years.
How do you train for the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series
and other lumberjack competitions?
My wife and I workout on a regular basis and we chop and saw in our garage year round, except for about two months after the season ends. Our bodies need a break by then.
Are you related to any current or former STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series competitors?
Best/strongest STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series discipline:
My strongest event is probably the Underhand Chop.
Any advice for the collegiate competitors?
This sport is great from the standpoint that the more time you put in, the more results you see. It takes a ton of training to get to the next level, but if you keep training you will keep improving.
What pro athlete/celebrity would you like to see try one of the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series disciplines?
Big Ben from the Steelers - he has the brains necessary and he is one big man, which always helps.

I don't want to say.

My favorite shows are probably Storage Wars, Gold Rush and House Hunters.

July 3, 2010 - The day Collin and I got married.
