Favorite STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Series discipline?
Single Buck. I have never lost in a college competition.

How do you train for the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series and other lumberjack competitions?
I train about two days a week for all disciplines, but during the summer a little more. I do a lot of forearm workouts and latisimus dorsi workouts to help with underhand strength and single buck.

How long have you been competing in lumberjack sports?
I have been competing in the sport for three years now and was introduced to the sport by David Hanlon, who competed in the college finals two years ago and is now a good friend.

Do you participate in any nonprofit work?
I try to help with work at my church as much as possible.

Are you related to any current or former STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series competitors?
I am the first one in my family to ever compete in the sport.

Interesting fact(s):
I am currently working for someone doing tree falling. I got married a few years back and I have two brothers, one being my twin who is one minute older. Three years ago I was one stroke away from making it to the U.S. Open. Tom Martin is my coach.

Dave is a multi-time winner of the Western STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Collegiate Qualifier and has finished in the top 3 in the US Collegiate ranks. He is making his 2nd appearance as a professional in the Series after sitting out in 2012.
