How did you get involved in lumberjack sports?
The community I grew up in has an annual logging show where I was first exposed to the sport. I started competing in lumberjack sports as a student at the University of Washington.
When did you begin participating/competing in lumberjack sports and the STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Series?
I began competing in professional lumberjack competitions in 1997. 2009 was my first year competing on the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series.
How do you train for the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series and other lumberjack competitions?
I weight train and maintain general fitness year-round. I emphasize skill building and event training as the competition season approaches each year.

Any advice for the collegiate competitors?
Listen and glean information from experienced competitors. It may not always seem important at the time, but you just might use that knowledge down the road.

I don't have a playlist because I don't listen to music when I train.

Proudest moment in your life so far:
First and foremost my marriage and family. I am also proud to have been a 2011 STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series Finalist, as well as earning medals at the 2010 and 2011 STIHL TIMBERSPORTS World Championships as part of the USA relay team.
