What are your plans after graduation?
Find a job in Consulting Forestry.

How will you prepare/train for the Collegiate Championship in June? Who will you train with?
I plan on more strength training and chopping with emphasis on stock sawing. I intend on training with Logan Scarborough and hopefully Mike Slingerland.

When did you first start participating in lumberjack sports?
I got my start when I joined the Montgomery Community College Forestry Club’s Timbersports team before I started State in 2009.

How did you get involved in lumberjack sports?
I came out to some practices the Forestry Club was having and got hooked.

Are you related to any current or former STIHL® TIMBERSPORTS® Series competitors?
No.

Do you have any advice for other collegiate competitors?
Be able to take criticism, keep an open mind, and seek help from professionals if you can. Recording yourself on video is a good method of identifying areas for improvement.

Mel Lentz.

Best/strongest STIHL TIMBERSPORTS Series discipline:
Underhand Chop.
