Rated 5 out of 5 by Finally an engine that STARTS EVERY TIME! (since 8/29/2008) I bragged about my FS90R as if I was a paid endorser but I'm not!Someone else liked it too. They stole it out of my garage. April 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Beast Awesome power. I've cut down tall pasture grass, cleaned chain link fence lines, barbed wire fence lines that were all OVER grown. Great power doing so and cut through Em like butter. Also makes trimming around the house and yard a BREEZE. Very easy start, comfortable to use with shoulder strap that is provided and easy to reload the string. Best Trimmer I've ever owned hands down. Would recommend this trimmer for people with large acreage and/or cleaning and maintaining fence lines. April 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by FS 90 R I have already used this trimmer a few times and it works great, always starts on the first pull even in temperatures around 40 degrees. Has plenty of power for regular trimming in residential and commercial areas but if you are looking to clear thick or heavy brush, I would recommend a more powerful product. Overall I am very happy with the trimmer. April 11, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy start, Great Power, Well balanced Bought last week and used many times already. Recommended by lawncare providers. Pleased with power and other features but had a lot of line break issues so far. I read this as issue in other reviews. I believe (hope) I found resolution by pushing the line all the way down in slot where the slot has a well rounded lead-in; I was not doing before and line was on sharp edge. Manual is one of worst I have seen. Does not recommend line size or length. Luckily I had seller show me how to get to line and remove head. Lots of discussion re. blade cutting but primary use is weed trimming with line so tell us how to refill line, remove head and correct line breakage. April 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by It always starts right up and runs without a hitch! I'm a bad power equipment owner; I don't prepare my FS90R for storage in the off-season - I just hang it up and pick it up again when I need it.I bought this trimmer in 2007 when I owned 5 acres, and had LOTS of brush to cut. In 2010, I moved to a much smaller property and packed my FS90R into the abyss that is my garage.Recently, six years later, I again had a brush clearance need and I dug that trimmer out from the back of the garage, saw that it had fuel in it, and after about 10 pulls on the starting string, it fired right up. And it ran perfectly. After not being used for six years, and with old fuel in it.So, being the bad power equipment owner that I am, I proceeded to clear brush until the fuel got low. The FS90R did a great job and ran flawlessly.I think I'll treat it to some fresh Chevron 89 octane fuel and Stihl HP Ultra 2-Stroke oil. I've done zero maintenance on this trimmer, and it is functioning perfectly.Maybe I'll even grease the accessory head and start feeding it Motomix.I highly recommend the FS90R. April 6, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Problems After 4 uses I bought this product after careful review of many different brands and models. After 4 uses the starter cord broke. I have owned several trimmers over the years and never have I paid this much for one and it is the first one to have a pull starter cord break. I took it to the dealer where I bought it and it has been in the shop for a week and still no word as to when it might be fixed. Meanwhile the weeds just keep getting taller. Based on my short experience with this product I could not recommend it. April 1, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best bang for your buck I bought this 5 years ago. The the fs90 is very good nice power to weight. I will run this thing 8-10 hours per day one or two days per week I use in in cemetery work. Most of my work is done with this tool. Acres and acres and acres of nothing but trimming. I use it for brush cutting I recommend the handle bar style for that work though. I have had to replace the carb once. No complaints 100's and 100's of hours on it. I do run stihl synthetic oil. I only run stihl power equipment blowers, saws, trimmers. I can't make money if my tools won't start. March 20, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Totally Recommend! I would recommend the FS90 to anyone. It almost always start with one to two pulls and has tons of power for the weight. I can use this trimmer all day when the FS 240 get very heavy after awhile, and the power difference is not really noticeable. I have the poll saw, mini-cultivator, and brushcutter attachments. The FS 90 has more than enough power to run them. With the brushcutter it will cut down trees up to 3 inchs. Its the smallest trimmer that has a geese fitting and that is important for long usage.
