Rated 5 out of 5 by The best line trimmer we've ever had. We cut several miles of fence line on both sides 6-8 times a year with our 8 year old FS250 and have never replaced anything but a few spark plugs, air filters and, miles of line.Tons of power for clearing multiflora rose bushes with the cross blade and saplings that pop up in the pasture. Not one of the many other trimmers we have owned comes close to it. February 4, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by very powerful i have owned this 250 for about 3 years and can't say enough about it . I have a hill of about an acre that has to be kept clear for a view and has heavy brush. This machine does the trick. (the right tool for the right job!!!). I have loaned this to a couple of friends to clear some brush on thier land and each have gone out and bought one. August 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Amazing power, light weight and great balance. If you've ever used a trimmer from a big box store or small hardware store throw all those experiences out of your mind. I haven't had a string trimmer for over a decade because of those harsh memories. Heads falling apart, motors bogging down, motors not starting, parts of the trimmer falling off, string guards spinning around the shaft, loose handles, etc... I came to a point in my landscaping side work that I no longer could do without a trimmer! Begrudgingly I started my research. I have all Stihl power equipment, chain saws 066, MS441, 019 blower 600. So I knew I was going with a Stihl trimmer. I first noticed that all the Stihl trimmers have been recently redesigned save the FS250. The 250 is a holdover from years past. The engine is a veteran of many Stihl products like the post hole digger and the ice auger. I read many reviews and watched many Youtube videos. All were very complementary. As amazing as it sounds I found no negative feedback on the 250 at all! The reason I was drawn to the 250 was I needed a brush cutter as well as a trimmer and the 250 seemed to fit that bill. It's Stihl's most powerful trimmer so I knew trimming would be no problem and from the videos I watched brush cutting would be no problem either. I bought the 250 with the bike handles. ***.** bucks!! OUCH!! But you get what you pay for! It came with the hardware to mount saw blades and a four point harness, In all the spec's I read I never could find what harness it came with until I bought it? I guess as far as the harness goes "you have to buy it to find out what's in it"? The 250 does not disappoint!! Tons of power to spare. The balance is amazing. You feel no weight on the handles. All the weight is on the harness and you can't even feel it. I was surprised at this. I've never run a trimmer that felt weightless? The 250 feels weightless!! You wont be disappointed with the 250. Buy it!! July 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent trimmer I had used my 15 year old FS 200 to mow the rows in my 2 acre vineyard. I was almost half finished when I couldn't start it again. I took it to the dealer and after a discussion about how old it was, I purchased the FS 250. I wish I had bought it before I started mowing. It was much faster and used less fuel. It is an excellent trimmer. And the line lasts longer. July 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Definitely a professional tool. Not grampa's little string trimmer. I have the FS 250 and an FS 200 trimmer. The 200's power and durability convinced me that the big brother was the way to go, when I decided to have one set up for full time brush cutting. Once you spend 5 minutes operating one, you will be amazed at the smoothness and power it has. Nothing seems to bog it down. March 13, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product, resonably priced. I have spent a lot of time working with this trimmer. I used the same trimmer 8 hours a day 5 days a week for 6 months straight. These trimmers are durable and run forever. Suprisingly comfortable for the weight (which isn't bad). You can cut tree limbs close to the size of your thumb with just string. After using a trimmer like this you won't want to use another. If you want to run circles around everyone else this is the trimmer you need. March 10, 2013
