Rated 5 out of 5 by All around great trimmer. This machine is awesome! I've had my unit approximately 3 years and I use multiple tool attachments. I currently have the edger, adjustable hedge trimmer, and string trimmer head. Other than a recall on the fuel cap (which was corrected free of charge by my local Stihl dealer.) I have had zero issues. Perfect mix of power and balance, I can run the unit for hours and it doesn't feel heavy. I have ran echo, Husqvarna, John Deere, Red Max, and Shindaiwa and I always come back to the Stihl. April 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great tool for overgrowth. I recently purchased 2.8 acres that has been neglected for many years and is completely overgrown with briars and saplings. I purchased the three tooth grass/brush cutter and immediately installed it on the machine. It cuts almost everything! I also purchased the MS170 chainsaw to get what I am afraid to tackle with the trimmer, which isn't much. I just have to say I love the sound of the 4-mix engine. When people see me using it they know this is no ordinary "weed eater". March 10, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor ignition It's unfortunatel that Stihl would release a product with a sub standard ignition system. This ignition is not compatible with the 130. It continuously runs in ignition cutoff to regulate the maximum speed of the unit. It vibrates and sounds like it's going to detonate at any moment. Not what you would expect from an expensive tool like this . A bit disappointed... December 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Plenty of power to spare! I have always cut large hillsides with FS70's and FS90's. Boy you can cut so much faster with the extra power of the FS130!! Tall, thick, weeds can't slow the head down with this trimmer. It's also the best value of Stihl's professional line of trimmers based on marginal power/cost. The new 4-mix engines also have an entirely different power band than the old 2-strokes. I personally favor the output and torque of the newer engines. October 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by BOSS This trimmer is amazing. I have long been using a cheaply made alternative to Stihl. Its worth EVERY penny. I can see long use and many weeds destroyed with this machine. I will never buy anything but a Stihl. September 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent trimmer plenty of power Had a Tanaka for 10 years decided to retire it and what an improvement with the Stihl !!! This trimmer destroys brush and weeds. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that needs a heavy duty trimmer. August 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hang on and enjoy the ride! Best trimmer you will ever own and worth every penny! We recently bought a house and 15 acres. Needless to say the 15 acres wasn't very attractive. The previous owners ran horses on the acreage so there wasn't any grass but weeds were abundant. Abundant doesn't really define it very well. They were everywhere! Choking every tree and sapling on the place. Chest high growth on the pond dam and under every fence. What's the best way to fix this problem you might ask? Buy yourself s STIHL FS-130 load it with 085 line and get after it. Place looks like a golf corse now and will continue to. Thanks STIHL, August 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by A monster It's a monster I've not had any problems with it all the reviews about it breaking strings Is not true I'm using the steel 95 xline and it very rarely breaks the strings but it wears down but it don't break it It starts every time I go to use it and It's got so much power when i pull the trigger it rolls around in my hand and whatever it can grab it will wrap around the head August 14, 2013
