Rated 5 out of 5 by Great power easy starting I bought two of these trimmers to replace two of lesser quality that broke down this year. So far they both start on at least the second pull and usually the first. They are used heavily along a 20 + mile pedpath that is over grown with knot weed and other trash brush areas. No problems to date, the string feeds out and seldom jams like our old ones did on a regular basis. I would not hesitate to recommend these trimmers. August 25, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Smooth, easy, efficient! The FS130 has been smooth, efficient and easy to use.I've used it to clear brush using the saw blade, and it does the work easliy and quickly. August 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent machine for the price and performance The manual recommends running the FS130 at half throttle for the first 3 tanks of gas. At half throttle the machine chewed up weeds and vines that were growing on my fence line better than any other I have ever owned. Cleaning 25 acres of horse fence with the bike handle attachment and shoulder harness was almost fun! August 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brush cutting machine I purchased this to primarily cut down over grown brush and small trees. This things chews up anything you put in front of it. I use the chisel blade and can cut through a 2" tree in seconds. The blade even works well in heavy thick grass. I sharpen it between tanks of gas and it just keeps cutting. This machine has so much power I am almost afraid of breaking something when I get to swinging it. July 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent trimmer, plenty of power This is by far the best trimmer I have ever used and I've used a lot of brands. Has plenty of power even for the thickest grass and brush. Definitely spend the little bit extra and get the fs130 over the others. I only paid an extra $30 for the fs130 over the fs110 and I'm glad, not that the fs110 is bad but it makes sense to pay the 30 bucks extra for the bigger engine and more power. Also glad I got the one with the bike handles it really saves my back. June 5, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Product has enough power. For me it's a little heavy but has the power I need to get the job done. Tends to be a little hard to start from cold, but after initial running starts right up. June 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Balance I use this trimmer to cut around a lake, under fences around trees,in ditches and around the house. It has good balance. It took some adjustment of the handle bars and harness attachment to get the right fit for me, but that would apply to everyone. I like the two shoulder harness. May 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great trimmer! By far the best trimmer i have ever used. Starts on first pull every time, very high torque for cutting the thick stuff. Would defiantly recommend to a friend. May 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by FS130 Excellent cutter for the price. It's really a life saver clearing South Texas brush when I cannot reach it with a chainsaw keeping me away from snakes! May 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for light brush I use this tool to clear dense wild blackberry thickets and hardwood saplings up to 2"in diameter on my property. The area is hilly and was previously logged so between the stumps and hills a brush hog would be impractical. The FS130 is lightweight and powerful and is easy to carry and maneuver on the hills. The harness included is comfortable and makes it easy to run the tool for hours on end.It goes through the woody blackberry shoots as quickly as I can swing the head, and I have been very impressed with the 130's ability to cut through saplings with the chisel tooth blade. To maintain cutting performance I find that I have to sharpen the chisel tooth blade at every refueling. I recommend purchasing a file guide with the saw blade, as well a face shield as the blade can kick up a lot of debris at times. May 8, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by this product is great yes i would recomend this product.I just bought my fs 130 today. As soon as i got it home i instantly took the trimmer head off and put on a brush blade. Took the fs 130 into the brush.Started on 1" to 3 " diameter saplings immediatley. Cuts threw them good for a trimmer/ brush tool. I think the fs130 would be a beast if it wasn't rev limited. The only draw back on the tool that i have found. Highly recomend the ms290 farm boss chainsaw by Stihl. Bought one about a month ago. All around the best chainsaw i have ever used. Thanks for the great products STIHL! February 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by 1 of the best weed eater/Brush cutters ever made Purchased 1 of these not long ago and The power to weight ratio is just fantastic. Cuts through everything I throw at it and wants more. Easy on the gas and Light weight. Well worth the money. And to add to it a 4 year warranty when you by a 6 pack of Stihl Ultra, Something you should be using anyways. February 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Brush Cutter I use this on my hunting land. I have cut down 2 to 3 inch diameter prickly brush down with this. Just need to use the correct techniques. It has plenty of power. I can keep up with a 250, my dad owns one. Makes cutting brush easy and quick. January 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great cutter/trimmer I have a small farm and have owned mine for about seven years now with absolutely no problems. I have cut trees up to about 3" with a quick smack of the blade (maybe not recommended). I like it so much that I usually use it for my everyday trimmer in place of my FS-55. Great machine. Rated 1 out of 5 by The FS 130 makes a good grass trimmer The FS 130 makes a good grass trimmer BUT not a brushcutter, to low on power andrpm to be a brushcutter, preset and fixed jets so you can not open it up or the valveswill float, yes it has valves, so to low rpm for a brushcutter...
