Rated 5 out of 5 by Got Weeds? The Stihl FS 56 RC is your money's worth!!! This machine is the best, why? Because first off it's a STIHL. Easy to start and once started, it will not die on you like most brands. Lots of power, lightweight. I'm glad I made this purchase. I would highly recommend this weed eater to anyone looking for one to maintain there lawns, driveways, fences etc... Don't waste your money on other brands. The FS 56 RC is great for small or large lots also. Always use a minimum of 89 octane unleaded gasoline, or middle grade. April 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great trimmer Bought one yesterday, plenty of power, easy to start, and lightweight. Definitely well worth the money. Very easy to use. March 12, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Can't operate long without burning arm Starts easy and runs fine but whats the point if you can't use it long enough to finish the job. When gripping the handle of the trimmer your upper forearm is left up against the engine housing and it gets rather hot after a few minutes.. I've used Stihl products for 38yrs and have been happy until now. This trimmer was a complete waste of my hard earned money February 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by For the average homeowner that has an acre of land. A great trimmer of the money, made in the USA too. I use it for about 45 minutes every week in the summer months for trimming around the property. No problems after a year of ownership. I would recommend Sthils premixed fuel if you don't burn more than a gallon a season. It's suppose to have a good shelf life after opening. February 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy start , tough and Reliable This is my 2nd Stihl product, I am impressed even more with this one. Same reliablility and toughness. But with easy start and ease of handling thrown in. With Quality and service after the sale. Its a combination thats hard to beat. October 19, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Going well so far Starts easy and plenty of power. I've used it 4 times so far on a 1/2 acre St. Augustine lawn with lots of flower beds, a garden and lots of trees and shrubs to trim around. I've previously used a Ryobi for about 15+ years and there is something different about the ergonomics of the Stihl that strains my right arm. Still experimenting with how I'm using it. Also, the trim head spins in the opposite direction than what the Ryobi did. So where the Ryobi caused the cut material to be pushed away from me, the Stihl causes the grass clippings to come back on my feet and legs. I'm a little concerned about the bump feed button also. On the Ryobi the button was separate from the line spool, on the Stihl the bump button and spool are all one piece, so the spool will have to be replaced when the button wears out. Also, the trimmer head does get very hot when in use. The 56 trim head is lubed and sealed at the factory with no provision for lubricating later. Will have to see if there are any long term issues with the head. October 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great bargain for the quality It is not fair to write about a superior product that is powerful and dependable. I have had 4 stringers in the last 4 years and each one of them fail after a few cuttings. The power is outstanding and this product only cost $20.00 more than the last big box brand I bought. I am glad I finally listen to my friend and got the best I ever had so far. October 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy Start, Plenty of Power This is one of the easiest power tools to start I have ever experienced. It runs smooth and has plenty of power to do anything I ask of it. Looking forward to using it for a long time. September 23, 2013
