Rated 4 out of 5 by this product has great features In the old days, Stihl trimmers were no problems for me. I have a Stihl chainsaw that was bought 15 or so years ago, and it is still awesome today. The trimmers of yesteryear worked very well. You didn't have to worry about the starter rope pulling out. I am not comfortable pulling the rope '' gently'' to start the trimmer. Also, I get maybe 15 to 20 min on fuel, then have to fill it up again. The string is too thin for my yard. Stihl has been my choice almost forever, I do recommend Stihl though. September 14, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by This product did not preform well very poor quality. Less than three months of service the line feed would not function needed to be manually played out. Also the Carberator had to be replaced in this short time frame. Not a satified customer. September 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Trimmer I got tired of battling the cheap trimmers every time I had to do some yard work. I bought the trimmer and have been very happy. Easy to start, reliable, and the bump feed works great and is easy to load. The only thing I would change is the string size that it take. The little string does get eaten up pretty quickly. Rated 1 out of 5 by Very poor durability Bought this trimmer it was in my price range, so from what I've heard stihl makes a good product. Well not so with this one ran two tanks of fuel through it the day I got it and it ran and worked good, on the second day I went to cut some thicker stuff and it would start to vibrate severely and head would not turn or turn very slowly no speed. took it back they asked how I was using it and I told them and was informed that it was not designed to run it for that long of a period of time and hard, it was only meant to be run for a few minutes here and there now and again.Needless to say very disappointed with this trimmer was hoping this would be the last trimmer I would have to buy, I was wrong and very disappointed.Don't buy this trimmer if you actually intend to put it to work July 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Reliable, easy to start. We switched from a 4 stroke... I like the "easy2start" It pulls over easily. It starts 1-3 pulls cold, 1 pull warm. I like the long curved shaft its a good compromise in between the regular curved shaft and the straight shaft/ if it idles for about 1 minute and you hit the throttle fast it bogs and sometimes stalls, it doesn't do it all the time. if you hit the throttle gradual after it has idled for a while it does fine. The dealer said it did that because it was still in the break in period. i like that its light. we had a ryobi 4 stroke straight shaft trimmer for a few weeks and it was OKit was realy heavy, it used oil and started idling rough, so we returned it and got the stihl for the same price. the 2-stroke doesn't smoke or anything. I could smell the exhaust about the same on the 4stroke just as much as the 2 stroke. All in all its a good trimmer so far we had it for about a week now. I guess time will tell how long it last... Rated 4 out of 5 by FS 50 C-E First of all, I absolutely HATE doing yard work. But I liked the idea of the extended shaft since I'm a big tall guy. Makes it a little easier to trim without breaking my back! Wish this trimmer had the heavier line, it does seem to break quicker than my real, real old Stihl that used the heavy line. Does a nice job overall. Did I mention that I HATE cutting grass and doing yard work? So anything that's going to make it easier I like -- and this trimmer is easy to operate and that makes the yard work bearable. My last Stihl trimmer lasted over twenty five (25) years -- if this one comes even close I'll be happy, even though -- and I'm not sure I made it clear -- I HATE yard work!! Have had it a month now and it seems to be a good, solid, reliable product, just as all my Stihl equipment is. June 6, 2013
