Rated 5 out of 5 by Best weedeater ever! I bought this weedeater in may or june and i absolutely love it! The first time i replaced the line was a little difficult but now im used to it. I trim over 2 acres of land that has heavy brush and thick grass but this weedeater gets the job done. My line wears a lot probably because of the stuff i trim but im happy i bought it. Definitely recommend it and being 6'3" i dont really have to hunch over to trim. Great product. Also have a stihl FS 72 that my grandpa bought back in 1995. So thats why i bought this one to replace the old one when it finally goes. July 10, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Expensive trimmer that's incredibly hard to start and can't stay running This is the absolute worst home power product I have ever purchased! I bought Stihl thinking I would invest in something good and that would last a long time. Boy was I wrong and sadly disappointed. After the first couple uses it just got harder and harder to start. I've had it a little over one year and it is now impossible to keep running! I've replaced it with fresh gas, fuel stabilizer I've tried everything. It's been used maybe 10 times. Now it collects dust in my garage. I want to wrap this expensive piece of junk around a tree! July 2, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by FS 50 C Wrong angle on curve of trimmer. Both me and my wife found that we had to lift high on the motor end to trim with enough control not to scalp the lawn or bump the bottom and feed to much line. Poor design on curve for either a 5'6' or a 6' individual. June 26, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Died on Third Use Purchased a new FS 50-CE near the end of April from my local dealer. I was tired of replacing cheap string trimmers every couple of years and based on the excellent durability of my larger Stihl trimmer purchased many years ago, I had high hopes for this little trimmer. I purchased a larger model simply because it claimed to be assembled in the USA while the lower priced models were made in China. The sole use of the FS50 -CE was trimming shrubs around my small lawn. The FS 50-CE was easy to start and seemed to have more power than the cheaper trimmers. My wife used it the first two times and she complained the trimmer didn't feed the line out well. I assumed it was user error. On the the third and most recent use, I began trimming. I also had difficulty getting the line to feed, so I re-strung the head with new line. Same issue, so I removed the spool and re-wrapped the line again. Fired it back up and it ran for 15 seconds and then died. I repeatedly tried to restart it and it would not. I sat it down in my garage and noticed it was profusely leaking fuel out of the bottom. It has been back at the dealer now for almost a week and I am extremely disappointed. I know failures are going to happen and maybe I was just unlucky or its a random part that broke, but I feel like they should have replaced this unit with a new trimmer being it was less than 60 days. At least the cheap trimmers lasted two seasons. Now, I am wishing I'd bought a different brand. June 24, 2016
