Rated 5 out of 5 by Eight-Tooth Metal Grass Blade - A Really Good Product I've been running the 8-tooth metal grass blade on my FS 90 trimmer/brushcutter for several years now and am extremely satisfied with it. Like posted earlier, it's as effective on woody brush and heavy weeds as it is on heavy grass. It will go right through saplings an inch or a little more like a hot knife through soft butter, or as posted earlier, like a laser beam. If the sapling is a couple inches or larger, it will cut that too, but it will take a two or more "bumps" with the blade, but it WILL cut through it.I have very heavy squaw brush, briars, myriads of saplings, sumac, and heavy weeds all around the perimeter of my yard and this blade on my FS 90 allows me to wreak havoc on them and keep the encroachment at bay.I have cat-tails around my pond and I keep them cut down so we can fish more easily and this blade goes through them like they aren't even there. Also, as posted earlier, this blade is easy to resharpen. A few strokes on each tooth with a flat file and you're better than new. October 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by useful accessory I bought the 4 bladed model. As they come from the factory they're not really sharp. Works well on brush up to 3/8 inch. Works well on grass but has a small cutting diameter. I prefer the poly-cut blade for light brush and all around use. This one is better in slightly heavier brush. Watch this one in rocky ground. I don't like switching blades, but if what I will be cutting is mostly brush, I will put this one on to save my poly-cut blades. June 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best all purpose blade around. Bought this for some overgrown brush and weeds with a few saplings mixed in. My dealer said it would do everything I asked of it and more, and he was dead on. Cut through green saplings and woody vines like a laser beam. I like the efficiency and simplicity of it. A few seconds with a file and you're cutting like its new again. Would strongly recommend this blade for brush cutting chores. May 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Much better than the old 2 handed mowing scythe. I have used the 8 blade on a FS 76 for several years to mow around my cabin and a driveway about 300 yards long. I usually cut 2 or 3 times a year. It lays the grass and green briers over right where they were growing just like cutting hay with the manual mowing scythe. You don't have to run the blade very fast for it to cut good. I find a little above idle works best for me. You still have to get in a rhythm of swinging side to side. The blade seems to stay sharp for a years worth of cutting. To sharpen I just clamp the blade to my drill press table with the blades over the edge. About 6 strokes with a file on each edge and it is good for another year. April 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Blade! I have the 8 tooth grass blade, and it cuts all my thick brush. When I first bought this blade, I thought it could only cut thick grass because it is a "grass blade", but it cut all my wooded brush just fine. This blade even cut some trees that had a diameter up to an inch. July 20, 2013
