I didn't know how this attachment would work on my trimmer, but because the price is so reasonable, I decided to give it a try. This year, I started maintaining the grounds of our Church and Vicarage, and I needed an edger for all the sidewalks and curbs there. The Grounds department where I work uses this edger attachment on their straight-shaft Stihl trimmers with the standard handles and are very pleased with them. They maintain over 400 acres with sidewalks and curbs everywhere, so I knew these FCS Edger Attachments were durable and effective.I have been extremely pleased with all aspects of this edger attachment. I've had no problems installing or removing it, it's easy to set up my FS 90 to make it comfortable to operate, and it's very easy to control and direct, even around curves. The handlebar on my FS 90 has caused me no operational problems. The sidewalks and curbs hadn't been edged in years, and the grass and turf was grown out over them for four to eight inches. That meant that the blade had to cut two or three inches deep to get down to the level of the concrete. I adjusted the edger blade for a deep cut, so that the blade was kissing concrete about a half inch below the edge of the sidewalk or curb. It had no problem making a nice, neat, square cut the first pass in 99.5% of the places. I had to go pretty heavy on the throttle to keep it cutting that deep, but the gearbox barely even got warm. After that first time, I adjusted the blade back up, since the wheels are now running on the concrete, and it just takes a quick pass to keep everything looking great.Another bonus for this attachment is that replacement blades are really cheap and easy to change. Rated 4 out of 5 by CEBMDB Good edger attachment I bought one of these a year ago. I switch it out with my trimmer head. At times it is picky getting the shaft and socket to line up, but a little wiggling and it goes right in. Other than that, I have not had one problem. The gear box gets a good work out and still no shaft seal leaks or any other problems. I would definitely recommend this attachment and IF I need to get another one, I will get this one. July 18, 2013
