Rated 5 out of 5 by Research Normally I will research products and spend days reading reviews. BUT this purchase was a bit of an impulse buy. The Ace hardware store owner was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in choosing the right saw.I've been using it for a week straight about 5 hours a day. EZ start really is....power was impressive. I cut trees from 6"-24", without any problems. Chain does need to get tightened from time to time, but it was quick and didn't require any tools. I did have to change the chain and have the first one sharpened due to the fact some of my work was clean up and trunks were laying in dit which dulls a blade quickly.Very happy so far and actually look forward to using it. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great starting feature I first bought the straight 251 and found the high compression engine to take more muscle to start than I wanted to use. So I exchanged it for the 251 C-BE. What a relief. It works best at higher rpm's. This saw tackled 80% of clearing out big fallen trees (24" diameter) and all firewood cuts. A bigger saw could do everything but the lighter weight of the 251 keeps me cutting for longer periods. The EZ tension adjuster takes getting used to. January 16, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great saw for the size, Easy to use, does the job I Have had this saw for about a year and used it probably 20+ times from simple firewood to clearing trees after storms on the hunting property. Easy to start, fuel efficient, comfortable. even at 10k feet camping I never had an issue with power or this saw starting. Two pulls and this Stihl fired up no issues after not being used for 4-5 months. All around good saw, I would definitely get another if something happened January 12, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great chainsaw for the right type of use This is the first new chainsaw I've bought in nearly 40 years. As I get older I was looking for something lighter, with easier starting and modern vibration damping. The 251 C-BE was a good choice and will nicely handle 90% of my requirements. The 18" bar and smaller engine is a little limiting, but I still have my old, larger saw to handle those few, but larger requirements. I was a little concerned on my first use as the chain seemed to lock up on me and moving the kickback bar multiple times did not fix the problem. But after removing the chain and reinstalling, all seemed to work fine. I really enjoy the lighter weight and feel the noticeable change in vibration. November 9, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good for new saw owners I got talked into buying this saw, probably becuase I didn't look like a guy who has been using chain saws for 20+ years. The saw works fine, but for a guy who is used to the original method of adjusting saw tension and who is used to taking apart and servicing the saw himself, this homeowners version is different enough to be annoying. And with all due respect, the start mechanism is not as easy as they make it sound and I have problems getting the choke to open all the way. The ergonomics and anti-vibration are a marked improvement, but I miss the simplicity of my 15-year old saw! November 8, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Why did I wait so long? After the usual 30 minute marathon to get the ol box store saws to run my wife said it was time. So before she had a chance to change her mind ran over to local dealer and did what should have done years ago. Excellent all around saw. Not heavy but strong enough to cut through anything. Easy to start is easy to start. The minute I got home my wife was able to pull and started right away. Love to chain adjuster , make quick and easy adjustment. Spend the money and get quality. All the time I have wasted over the years with box store saws and the money spent have to buy new ones makes this a steal. Plus it is made in the good ol USA !Also buying from a dealer that only deals with and knows power equipment took all the guess work out of picking to right product.Kudos to Prairie Power center in Sun Prairie Wisconsin.
