Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Ever For the Chain dissfunctional sharpening person such as myself This Tool is the best.I have owned 2 since late 2013 ( Easier to have 2, 1 each for 250 and 170 than change out the files ) and this device never ceases to amaze me.It works all time, every time and to think of all the Chains I have butchered over the years I probably could have purchased a couple Stihl saws. Rated 5 out of 5 by Tried a few different sharpeners over the the years and this is the best. I always prefered to file my chains free hand and when I finished shapening I hold the trigger wide open and if the saw drops through the log with any downward pressure I am satisfied. Always keeping my hand just above the handle in case of kickback. It's always been easier to file one side of the chain but with this it does't matter. This new sharpener gets the chain just as sharp but takes less time. It's not cheap but is a good investment.I read that you can also turn the saw upside down to make filing easier. November 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the Stihl 2 in 1 Sharpening Tool I've always struggled with correctly sharpening my chainsaw until I recently bought the 2 in 1. It takes me less than 10 minutes to sharpen my saw to a truly professional level. The best part is using the 2 in 1 is very simple to use. The instructional video was very helpful also! I disconnected my electric sharpener and put it back in the box. October 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by unbelievable This is the greatest thing to come along in a long time, have yet to change my chain in a year, and that is cutting wood almost every weekend with my 441. i just touch the chain up every time before use and cut. i have let other friends use it and everyone of them has gone out and purchased this awesome tool. i normally do not write reviews, but this is a product that i tell everyone about because it is that good. some say it is a bit pricey, but if you look at the savings of paying someone to sharpen a change or purchasing one i think it is a stihl! Rated 5 out of 5 by Elminates two step hand filing of saw chain. Was skeptical, but these really work great, cut time required to hand sharpen saw chain in half. Bought all three sizes. September 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best chain sharpening system on the planet I have ben very frustrated with every single chain sharpening device i've ever tried. This one is by far the best. I can toss my chain in a vise and clean up the rakers and the cutting tips with ease.......Love it! It's pricey but a good tool is worth every penny. I work as a product designer and there is no doubt major effort went into the creation of this little gem. September 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Cut all Day When I gt out to cut fire wood I used to bring three of four chains with me. You will always hit the dirty with your chain or the log will have hidden gravel on it. With this file set there is no need to carry extra chains. I wish I had invented it. August 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by EXCELLENT!!! This is a simple, effective, and efficient tool that will allow you to quickly and easily sharpen your chainsaw.I typically hear two things when it comes to sharpening chainsaws:1 - "the pro's all file by hand"and2 - I've never been great at sharpening by handThis tool may end up changing both of those statements. I'm not a pro…don't want to be…never will be. I don't care if I can't sharpen a chainsaw with nothing but a round file, a steady hand, and a trained eye. I want to cut stuff with my saw…not learn the lost art of filing by hand.As compared to the other options on the market the 2-in-1-File Guide seems to occupy a sweet spot in terms of price, functionality, mobility, and ease of use. This tool lets me perform two tasks at once…sharpen the cutters and lower the rakers. It gets the right angle every time and I'm back in business cutting wood.As a bonus…it fits in the chainsaw case.
