Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent for Farm Use Just purchased the KM90R with the FS-KM Grass Blade for use around my home. The unit starts right up on the first or second pull and performs flawlessly. Thus far I have used it to clear moderate to heavy brush and regular trimming around the fence line. Just yesterday I picked up the circular saw blade for it along with the limit stop kit and put it to use cutting down saplings and smaller trees. I would recommend this unit to anyone who needs to do some serious cutting. May 27, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5 by Good for standard homeowner chores. I bought it for edging and trimming. Edged my lawn with the curved edger (which hadn't been done well for a few years) and worked fine. Couldn't race along but at a walking pace had plenty of oomph. Trimming is a piece of cake. May 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Plenty of power for my tasks I bought this mainly to use the variable hedge trimmer. I was concerned that it wouldn't have enough power for this attachment. But I shouldn't have worried. It runs great and has not bogged down using the trimmer. May 9, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love the sound of the 4 Stroke Engine & plenty of power I bought this to use with the straight shaft pro edger, the ground was wet and I edged my sidewalk of 90x135 plus and this chewed right through it without clogging. April 29, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Choice for Lighter Power Requirements I am writing this review to alert potential buyers to be aware of the limitations of the KM 90 R. Look closely at the accessories that are listed as appropriate for this power head. I initially purchased this power head along with a line trimmer, straight shaft edger and bed redefiner. This power head works well with either of the first two accessories, but lacked the torque to adequately power the FBD-KM bed redefiner. After 30 minutes I was unable to re-define a 4 foot diameter bed without the power head bogging down many times. I took my time and tried advancing the tool (arrow on the redefiner shows the direction of work) only to have the power head stall unless I moved very slowly, and re-positioned every inch or two. Fortunately, my dealer understood the issue and for an additional $80 + tax,I was able to trade this unit back for the KM 130 R. Since doing so, I've completed over 200 feet of bed redefining. If you look closely at the accessory list for each power head, you will see the FBD-KM listed for the KM 130R, but not for the KM 90R. Whether the dealer should have advised me to go with the larger power head, I'm unsure, but I cannot fault the dealer in ensuring that I was ultimately satisfied with my Stihl purchases. If edging or trimming are your primary objectives and you don't plan to do bed redefining or tilling, the KM 90 R should be a good choice. IF you need do do more demanding tasks requiring the bed redefiner or tiller, pay the extra $80 for the added 40% torque. April 22, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great machine I have owned this for one year. I am a homeowner and this works great. Sometimes I wish I had more power but this machine is more than adequate for my needs. I have the trimmer, edger, and blower. All work excellent. March 1, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by KM90r I've been using the Kombi system for 3 years now, recently in the fall i added the adjustable hedge trimmer tool to go along with the string trimmer and edger attachments i already have. The KM56rc motor that i had, while fine for my other attachments, just did seem to have the umph to power the hedge trimmer the way i would expect it to. It worked, but i had to play with the throttle to spool it up first before trimming. The solution was simply more power, i picked up the KM90 on the weekend and the first thing i did was plug the hedge trimmer into it and fire up the motor. Right away you could feel the difference, with just the blip of the throttle the low end grunt of the 90 instantly gets things moving without the hestitation i felt with the 56. The 56 was fine, no other issues with it at all, it is a superb motor, the 90 just gives you the extra power to easily manage the heavier lifting needs of the hedge trimmer. PS... KM56RC motor for sale, well cared for, in excellent condititon. February 12, 2013
